- Welcome to the TAPEDOOR help file:
-
-
-
- The TAPEDOOR purpose:
-
- The main purpose of this door program, is to allow BBS Sysops the
- ability to archive massive amounts of programs and files on a
- COLORADO MEMORY SYSTEMS, INC. DJ-10 or DJ-20 tapedrive and make
- those archived files available to the users of the BBS, via this
- door program, for downloading.
-
- This has the net effect of putting to use a tapedrive that normally
- sits inactive most of the time and allow up to 250 megabytes of
- freed-up hard drive space and thus room for newer files for the
- good users of the BBS.
-
-
-
- How to USE the TAPEDOOR door:
-
- This is simple!
-
- 1 - At the main menu pick out which volume of the tapedrive that you
- wish to work with. If only one volume number is listed, then
- there is only one choice.
-
- 2 - At the volume manipulator menu, list out the available files and
- (T)ag all those files that you desire to download.
-
- 3 - After you have made all your desired choices, return to the main
- menu by hitting [enter].
-
- 4 - At the main menu choose, "(D)ownload", and the TAPEDOOR program
- will restore those tagged files from the tapedrive to a
- temporary holding directory. After all your tagged files are
- restored from the tapedrive, they will be sent to you via
- ZMODEM.
-
- Please allow the tapedrive approximately 50 seconds (per tagged
- file) for file restoration.
-
- 5 - Exit from this door, go off-line and enjoy your new downloads!
