- Renegade Userlist v2.0
- Copyright (c) 1993 by Scott Wiggin
-
- OK, this will be quick and painless. <G> What this program
- does is essentially replace the standard Renegade User Listing
- option. This program reads your USERS.DAT file and creates an
- ascii file, and creates an ansi file with the users listed in
- order by their user number. This looks WAY better than the
- standard one (sorry, Cott <G>), but the BEST part is the cool
- stats at the end! You'll have to run it to check it out.
- The ansi file it creates isn't really ansi, but it does use
- Renegade pipe color codes, thus creating colors (Although it DOES
- have some ansi line graphics). Therefore, you can't really see
- what the file looks like from the DOS prompt - you have to view
- it from inside Renegade to really get the color effect.
- The configuration file is called RGUL.CFG and involves 5 lines:
- 1) The name of your BBS (Don't add any blank spaces at the
- end of it or it won't be centered correctly.)
- 2) 0 or 1 (See, RG UserList will list the user's number, name,
- city and state, and either <gender and age> or
- <last call date>. If you put 0 on line 2, it will
- display the age and gender. If you put a 1 on line
- 2, it will display the last call date instead. I
- did this because some sysops don't want to display
- the users' ages, so they now have a choice.)
- 3) The full path of your USERS.DAT file.
- ** Don't forget to add USERS.DAT to the end **
- 4) The full path and filename of the ascii file to be
- created.
- ** Don't forget to add FILENAME.EXT to the end **
- 5) The full path and filename of the ansi file to be
- created.
- ** Don't forget to add FILENAME.EXT to the end **
- There is a little help inside the sample config file provided
- (you can just edit that one and use it).
- To set it up to be used on your Renegade board, just go to the
- menu editor and edit the one that WAS your former User Listing
- option (or if you deleted it, then create one).
- The new command key will be: -F
- The new option will be: USERLIST
- I used USERLIST in that case because that's what I called it in
- my RGUL.CFG file. You can change it in your RGUL.CFG file, but
- you'll have to remember to change it in your menu editor, too. I
- suggest you leave it called USERLIST.ASC and USERLIST.ANS (but
- don't put the extension in the menu editor - just put USERLIST).
- That's it. Now when a user hits the specified key in the menu,
- it will display either the ascii or ansi (depending on their
- setup).
-
-
- *** New things for version 2.0 ***
-
- 1) It will now check for negative numbers, and fix them.
- 2) It will now make sure no 'Divide By Zero' errors happen.
- 3) It will not display deleted users. It will display the line
- '--- Purged User ---' instead. And the stats will not reflect
- the deleted users' stats - they would be technically wrong! :)
-
-
- ** YOU SHOULD RUN THIS PROGRAM AS A NIGHTLY EVENT!! **
-
- This way, when you get a new user it will make a new user list,
- and the stats will be updated.
