  9. RGUtil started out as a small program called RGTop, which generated
  10. top 15 users bulletins.  That has now grown into something a little
  11. bigger.  RGUtil eliminates the need for a lot of one option utilities
  12. and puts them all into one package that is easy to use and runs fast
  13. enough to not make Nightly Events last forever.

  20. This Version doesn't have a lot of new "features", it has mostly
  21. been released to support the Remote Imaging Protocol (RIP) that
  22. has started to spread to many of the Renegade Boards.  I've also
  23. made it ASCII capable, for some reason I didn't think to do that in
  24. the first version.  But enjoy, the RIP bulletins only work for
  25. the Message Posters, Callers, Uploaders, and Downloaders.  The Call
  26. Graph will have it eventually.   This version is only a BETA because
  27. I haven't implemented all that I wanted to for this version.  All
  28. features have been tested and should work without any problems.
  29. Also included the HUP option that generates a message listing users
  30. who have dropped carrier.

  34. This Version has a couple of new things.  I added .ASC support
  35. for the CG option.  The TF:{cfg} option generates a Top 15 Files
  36. Bulletin using the same {cfg} as the FL:{cfg} option.  So you
  37. must either make a new {cfg} file or Insert the name of the
  38. BULLETIN in the second position of the {cfg} file. The PG option
  39. makes a Percent Usage/Day Graph.  So either run RGUTIL CFG or
  40. add the name of the BULLETIN you wish this to be to the end of
  41. RGUTIL.CFG.  Fixed the FD updater.  Sorry, didn't know it wasn't
  42. working in 1.99ß, but it is fixed now!  The FD updater also now
  43. updates the time and the date for the last caller.

  47. The Top Messagers, Callers, Downloaders, Uploaders, and Hung Up bulletins
  48. make use of the Renegade Pipe Colors.  So only a *.ASC file is generated
  49. instead of a *.ASC and a *.ANS file.  This was done for many reasons.  If you
  50. would like for RGUtil to generate ANS/ASC files, let me know when you send
  51. in your registration, and I'll be glad to send you a version making both.
  52. I left the Top 10 d/l files bulletin as both, so that you can put the Bulletin
  53. in your QWK packets without any problems for the user to view them.
  54. Added the USERS option.  This will generate a Sorted User Listing that can
  55. replace the one Renegade makes.  Added the YD option to generate a Front
  56. Door Yesterday activity bulletin.  Implemented a simple fix for the less
  57. than 15 users problem.  Now, when you run the option it'll tell you that
  58. you have to have more than 15 users to run this option.  I know, kind of
  59. a hokey "fix", but it's all I have time to do right now.  This problem
  60. shouldn't really effect anyone for any length of time anyway. <G>
  61. Added the SM option.  So that you can quickly and easily send a short
  62. one line message that they HAVE to read.

  84. RGutil is released under the ShareWare concept, so you can try it
  85. for 30 days before you have to register it.  RGUtil is not crippled
  86. in any way so that the SysOp can use all of the features available.

  88. Registration entitles you to use RGUtil after the 30 day trial
  89. period.  Your name and Board name will appear in the Bulletins,
  90. and it also entitles you to free upgrades as they come about.

  158. More Complete Description:

  160. CFG >
  161.         This must be run first! If not, RGUtil will stop working.
  162.         It was originally intended to go straight to running the
  163.         configuration program if RGUTIL.CFG wasn't found, but if
  164.         something happened during a late night batch, it might
  165.         accidentally sit there waiting for input.  WHOOPS!
  166.         Brings up the configuration program which will allow the user
  167.         to select the names for the Bulletin Files and the Security
  168.         level which should be omitted from the lists.  A selection of
  169.         250 will exclude all users with sl of 250 and above.  This
  170.         can be used to exclude sysops from the lists.  Also, don't use
  171.         a number greater than 255, Renegade won't allow it, and neither
  172.         will RGUtil.

  175. FLCFG >
  176.         This will call up the configuration program which will generate
  177.         a config file that is used by the File List generator.  This option
  178.         asks you what name to give the current configuration file, and a
  179.         BULLETIN name for this file so that it can be used with the TF option.
  180.         It then goes through all files bases and lets you select which ones you want
  181.         displayed when using this configuration file.

  183.         **  If you already have old CFG files, all you have to do is place
  184.         the name of the BULLETIN file as the second thing in the file.

  187.         Displays the help file.

  190. M,C,DLK,DL,ULK,UL >
  191.         These options generates a Bulletin displaying the best users in
  192.         each case, Top Messagers, Top Callers, Top Downloaders (K), Top
  193.         Downloader (#), Top Uploaders (K), Top Uploaders (#).

  197.         This option generates a list of all users with there phone numbers.
  198.         It also flags any numbers that are duplicates of another user.
  199.         This File is created in the MISC directory that RENEGADE.DAT uses.

  203.         Same as the above option, it uses the Real Name.

  206. USER- >
  207.         Generates a user list that includes, username, address and
  208.         phone numbers.  This File is created in the MISC directory

  216.         Generates USERS.LST in your MISC directory.  This is a sorted

  222.         are specifies in the {cfg} file.

  225.         Generates the Bulletin specified in {cfg} that will show

  229.         Generates a usage graph for the last 15 days of operation.

  232.         Generates a percent usage graph for the last 15 days.

  235.         Updates the LASTCALL.FD in the {path} directory.  This
  236.         is to allow for a multinode Front Door Setup.

  238.         Front Door like programs.  Please send me the file structures
  239.         and I will see what I can do.

  242.         Generates a Yesterday Activity Bulleting for the Front Door
  243.         information found in {path}.  It will then output a ANS and ASC
  244.         Bulletin {output} in your MISC directory.  DO NOT INCLUDE an
  245.         extension for the output name.
  246.         Ex.  YD:C:\FD\>BULLETF

  248. HUP >
  249.         Generates HUNG_UP.A** in you Misc directory with a message
  250.         and a list of users who hung up on the system the day before.

  253.         Send a message to user {#1}, this is the user NUMBER.  The
  254.         message it sends, {#2}, is the line found in SM.TXT.
  255.         Ex:  You want to send user #3 the Message Thank You!
