- Introduction
-
- Welcome to RAME
-
- RAME (RemoteAccess Menu Editor) came about because of some of the
- short comings of the Menu Editor that comes with RemoteAccess. So
- after about a year of playing around with the code, I finally sat
- down about two weeks ago to finish it up. I believe that the program
- is bug free and you will enjoy the added features that RAME offers
- over the menu editor that comes with RemoteAccess.
-
- RAME has been designed for RA only. RAME Supports the ability to
- select from 30 diffent language/menu areas. It allows you to simulate
- your ANSI, ASCII, AVATAR and RIP screens. It has built in graphics
- like the program THEDRAW. It gives you the ability to copy, rename,
- edit, delete and create new menus. It has built in online help for
- your menu ACTION selections.
-
- RAME is so simple to use that the doc's will not go into much detail
- on how to run the program. But I will have one section called "HINTS"
- to aid anyone that needs help.

- Hints
-
- 1. In your Autoexec.bat file you have the following line:
-
- Set RA=C:\RA
-
- Your path may vary, but notice no trailing backslash.
-
- 2. When copying, renaming or Deleting a menu use the spacebar
- to toggle a check mark before the file name and then press
- enter.
-
- 3. When returning from a rip screen simulation you must press
- almost any key twice or one of the F keys once to return to
- RAME.
-
- 4. When at Main or Simulate you can easily move around by pressing
- the highlighted key.
-
- 5. When Selecting a Menu you can quickly move to the right file by
- pressing the first letter in the menu name. Example:
-
- let's say you have 20 menus and you want to edit the TOP.MNU
- you can press T and it will take you to the first menu that
- starts with the letter T. That is quicker than pressing the
- arrow key 20 times if the menu is the last one
-
- 6. When Selecting a MENU ACTION, you can get complete online help
- by pressing the F1 key and toggle to a full page view by pressing
- the F5 key. From within help you can press F1 key again and get
- and index of all available help areas.
-
- 7. Not a bug; if you use a utility called ANSI TO RIP to convert
- your ansi screens to rip screens they may not display correctly
- because they are not true rip screens.
-
- 8. If you have a mouse installed, you will be able to use it in
- certain areas of RAME; like selecting menus, color, online help
- and simulations of screens.
-
- 9. Until the program is registered, you will not get use of one small
- feature and that is the graphics option. This is to promote
- registering the program but not cripple the program totally.
- There will also be a small delay at the end of the program until
- it is registered. Upon registering you will receive a key file.
-
- 10. RAME can be run from any directory; the following files should be
- in the RAME.ARJ file:
-
- FILE_ID.DIZ
- RAME.EXE
- RAME.FNT
- RAME.CHR
- RAME.HLP
- RAME.DOC
-
- 11. Any comments about RAME can be posted in the RA UTIL echo.
- The comments should be addressed to RANDALL BAKER or
- DAVID SMART.
-
- Considering this is the first release of the program, I believe the
- above 11 area's should cover any unknowns about RAME.
-
- This is a shareware program and you may use it for a trial period of
- 30 days, at which time you must register or stop using the program.
- RAME is not guaranteed to do anything but take up space on your hard
- drive.
