  10.      Here is an overview of new features and fixes in the latest release of
  11.      RAFM, THE RemoteAccess File Manager!

  13.      Added/Improved:
  14.  
  15.      -    More support for CD-ROM! RAFM will now copy the files from CD-ROM
  16.           to your convert-directory to improve CPS-rates. Also, RAFM will
  17.           skip the areas located on CD-ROM in a newfile search and will not
  18.           try to re-archive files in these areas.
  19.      -    Added support for FILE_ID.DIZ and DESC.SDI. When RAFM detects a
  20.           valid description inside an archive, it will read this file and
  21.           replace the current description.
  22.           Optionally, you can let RAFM strip Hi-ASCII characters from this
  23.           file.
  24.      -    You can now show hotkeys (and more) in a highlighted color using ^^
  25.           in the language file.
  26.      -    A little utility called RAFMCD.EXE will convert your current
  27.           Files.BBS listings to a special format. Using this program could
  28.           make life much easier, especially for those using a CD-ROM.
  29.      -    RAFMCln 's Auto-Adopt routines have been slightly changed to accept
  30.           the special listings created by RAFMCD.
  31.      -    Upload credits (both Time and Kb) are now expressed as a %, which
  32.           enables using credits less than 100%.
  33.      -    Added a window which allows the Sysop to view, change, delete and
  34.           add files from/to the tag-list ([Alt-T]).
  35.      -    The download selection routines now accept two more keys: A for ALL
  36.           files and Q for Quit.
  37.      -    RAFM will not show the Netmail address anymore in the version
  38.           information.
  39.      -    RAFMEdit will now jump to the first found file after a filename or
  40.           keyword scan.
  41.      -    RAFMChk (NOT the internal re-archiving routines) can now add GIF
  42.           specifications to the description.
  43.      -    Added .SQZ (Squeeze It) support.
  44.      -    The Auto-adopt routines still used the files- and listpaths from
  45.           FILES.RA which was a little bit confusing. From now on, only the
  46.           information in RAFMAREA.DAT will be used.
  47.      -    The 'Userdoes' prompts are now fully sysop-definable thru RAFMEdit.
  48.      -    Deleting files via RAFMEdit now has an OK-prompt in it (just try it
  49.           onces).
  50.      -    You can now specify which action RAFM has to take when encountering
  51.           an infected file.
  52.      -    Both RAFM and RAFMChk are now able to handle archives with embedded
  53.           directories. These directories will now be saved in the newly

  62.           created archive (provided that type of archive can hold
  63.           directories).
  64.      -    RAFM no longer uses it's internal buffers. From now on, the fossil-
  65.           buffers are filled completely, increasing the speed of building the
  66.           local screen and maximizing the use of data-compression.
  67.      -    When you specify in RaConfig that you've locked your fossil, RAFM
  68.           will now initialize the fossil at the locked speed.
  69.      -    Increased the speed of finding files to download. This only affects
  70.           files which are tagged first.
  71.      -    Added support to remove unwanted files from archives (f.e. those
  72.           stupid BBS-advertisements).
  73.      -    Shells from textfiles are now supported.
  74.      -    Removed the hardcoded CR/LF after displaying an .A?? screen. It's
  75.           now your own responsibility to get the cursor to column 1 when
  76.           necessary.
  77.      -    RAFM will now listen to the semaphore RAXITn.xxx. When found, RAFM
  78.           will immediately exit to RA.
  79.      -    Menutype 48 (download a specific file) has been changed. By
  80.           default, RAFM will use it's database to located the file, but when
  81.           you add /F on the optional dataline, RAFM will directly send the
  82.           specified files (you'll loose all special settings like free file
  83.           etc.).

  85.      Fixes:

  87.      -    When using the /L parameter, lockups could occur when entering your
  88.           name in capitals
  89.      -    Pressing [Esc] during filetranfers (internal) now indeed aborts the
  90.           transfer.
  91.      -    RAFM and RAFMChk would only check whether an archiver returned an
  92.           errorlevel of 0, everything else would indicate a failure. Both
  93.           programs now hold a complete lists of good and bad errorlevels.
  94.      -    ARJ archives with a security envelope weren't processed correctly
  95.           (they would cause a 'not enough diskspace' error).
  96.      -    When a user dropped carrier when downloading files using the
  97.           internal protocols, RAFM didn't count the already send files.
  98.      -    Internode messages are now displayed correctly.
  99.      -    RAFMAREA.A?? can now be stopped by pressing the [S] key.
  100.      -    Unarchived files weren't processed correctly when SHARE.EXE was
  101.           loaded.
  102.      -    Pressing a 'sysop-key' ([Alt-C] f.e.) while building a menu would
  103.           cause RAFM to wait for an extra key to be pressed.
  104.      -    After chatting, RAFM will now rebuild the screen.
  105.      -    Fixed problems with timer-functions on fast computers (486 etc.)
  106.      -    Fixed RAFMAll's display so large number of files won't cause an
  107.           overflow anymore.
  108.      -    Hopefully fixed every problem with the linking routine.
  109.      -    RAFMCln's auto-adopt routines will no longer try to scan CD-ROM

  119.      -    Made some changes to RAFMAll so the by now famous 204 error won't
  120.           occure anymore (caused by not entering a filename, only a path in
  121.           the list-names).
  122.      -    The Userdoes.xxx file will now be reset when the user returns to a
  123.           menu.
  124.      -    Sometimes, RAFM would pass a negative download-KB to Bimodem. For
  125.           Bimodem this means unlimited.
  126.      -    Adding /F in an upload command would place the file in the correct
  127.           directory, however not in the correct area.
  128.      -    No Download Hours didn't function properly, in fact, it didn't
  129.           function at all.
  130.      -    The *AF and *CF parameters (used with external protocols) would
  131.           cause RAFM to crash in some cases.
  132.      -    The view archive option didn't always show which file was found
  133.           when using wildcards.
  134.      -    When using a non-black background in a menu, RAFM would display the
  135.           wrong foreground color (many thanks to Andrew Milner for changing
  136.           specifications without letting anyone know ;-().
  137.      -    When NOT using the 'enter description before upload' feature, RAFM
  138.           would make a mess of the file-description.
  139.      -    Xfer Priority didn't function properly. It only affected the
  140.           downloadhours, but now RAFM will also ignore any downloadratios
  141.           when this bit is set.
  142.      -    On-line re-archiving didn't listen to the various settings of each
  143.           area.
  144.      -    When entering *.* in a filename-scan, RAFM would crash.
  145.      -    RAFM didn't send a clearscreen before the Time-Info menutype.
  146.      -    When you instructed RAFM NOT to re-archive SFX archives, RAFM would
  147.           call the wrong archiver to add the comment.
