- Documentation for NEWFILES V2.1H/092993 by Andy Gruenenwald
- -----------------------------------------------------------
-
- NEWFILES is a utility program that will generate a set of bulletins (ANS/
- ASC) that contain a list of files uploaded to your BBS in the last nnn days.
- NEWFILES is intended for Powerboard 1.25 or 1.25a. It has not been tested
- with other versions.
-
- FORMAT:
-
- NEWFILES [/D:nnn] [/B:mm] [/N:oo] [/C:pp]
-
- where "nnn" is how old a file can be before it is dropped from the list
- (i.e. 15 = files 15 days old and younger will be listed). Default = 15.
-
- and "mm" is the bulletin number. Default = 0.
-
- and "oo" is the node number which the new files were uploaded on, default
- is 0 (single-node version).
-
- and "pp" is the conference number where NEWFILES should look for the
- new files, the default is "1" (conference one).
-
-
- NEWFILES must be placed into your main BBS directory (C:\BBS or whatever).
- NEWFILES works by first looking at your LOGS\UPLOAD.node file to get a list of
- files uploaded recently. It them looks at your AREAS\FAREAn.BBS and all
- FILES\FILES.BBS files to locate where the recently uploaded files have been
- placed.
-
- The "/N" and "/C" options are new to version 2.1 of NEWFILES. With these
- parameters you can have a more selective report of new files on a BBS. The
- "/N" parameter tells NEWFILES which UPLOAD.n files to look through for
- uploaded files. The "/C" parameter tells NEWFILES which conference it
- should look in to find the particular area(s) recently uploaded files have
- been placed into.
-
- NEWFILES will create two files: BULL<bulletin number>.ANS and
- BULL<bulletin number>.ASC. For example, if you type "NEWFILES /B:4" then
- NEWFILES will create BULL4.ANS and BULL4.ASC. If you omit the bulletin number
- on the command line, NEWFILES will create BULL0.ANS and BULL0.ASC.
-
- NEWFILES will place the bulletin files it creates in the DISPLAY\ directory.
