- └══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┘
-
- - BBSList /Standard version is 100 percent functional with no hidden
- commands / features. There are no expiration dates, nor is this
- product crippled in any way!
-
- - Add new entries to Current Listing.
-
- - VIEW existing entries (BBSListing)
-
- - SEARCH existing listing entries for specific matches (Similar to
- the PCBoard Zippy commands>
-
- - BBSListing is automatically SORTED after each entry and can be done
- using your favorite Dos Sort util with whatever options you specifiy!
- <Like Qsort could be used to sort this listing>
-
- - Automatic BLOCK-OUT of duplicate entries which have the same phone
- number. In other words BBSList allows only one Entry per each phone
- number in the list and no more!
-
- * - Display OTHER BBSLists to View/Search <if provided by the sysop>
- Such as adding the USBBS Listing etc, so callers may do View or Search
- right from within BBSList.
-
- - Command interpretation <Just like PCBoard> BBSList allows all commands
- to be abbreviated, therefore <S> <SE> <SEA> <SEARCH> etc... are all
- valid commands to invoke each feature command!
-
- - Full Menu, Help, Info, and News display-files which can be modified
- at will for fit your needs.
-

- │ What is BBSList /Deluxe │
- └══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┘
-
- What is the Deluxe Version? The /Deluxe version of MT-BBSList is the very
- same product and behaves very much like the /Standard version. However
- there are many additional features, which are not available in the standard
- version of this software. The /Deluxe version besides being more elegant
- and complexed it also adds capability to allow callers to choose amoung
- multiple BBS Listings to View or Search for entries/text. A good example
- would be to use the BBSList not only to compile a listing of entries which
- New sysops and other users will enter in the database but also let callers
- View/Search for say the USBBS List, the Official PCBoard BBS Listing or the
- RIME Node list etc... The maximum capacity of lists which can be added to
- VIEW/SEARCH in the /Deluxe version may not Exceed 99 different listings, but
- the sysop merely needs to use whatever the amount needed. Other BBS Lists
- are simple to add! Simply enter in the Config file the Path and Name of
- file and BBSList [OTHER] Lists feature will automatically adapt to display
- them to the caller <if enabled by the sysop>
-
- If you would like a version of the /Deluxe version one can be obtained

- │ BBSList Installation │
- └══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┘
-
- ALL THE STEPS LISTED IN THIS DOCUMENT REGARDING INSTALLATION ASSUME YOU
- HAVE A COPY OF PCBOARD V15.0 (OR ABOVE) ALREADY CONFIGURED AND RUNNING!
-
-
- Unzip the contents of MT-BBS10.ZIP into it's own directory. Suggested
- path is -> DRIVE:\PCB\PPE\BBSLIST but you can place it anywhere you
- you would like, just as long as the correct path and PPE names are
- assigned within PCBoard <Next Step>
-
- Adding this program to PCBoard is simple. Load PCBsetup and choose
- option [B] File Locations Once in this PCBsetup Submenu choose
- (once again) option [B] Configuration files. Scroll down until
- you see -> Name/Loc of Default CMD.LST File : D:\PCB\MAIN\CMD.LST
- Now use the F2 key to edit the CMD.LST file "NOTE that the location
- shown above is the default as supplied by PCBoard" Your location
- might be different you might also have individual CMD.LST files for
- different conferences, the above is assuming you have a standard
- PCBoard v15.0 setup. <next step>
-
- <more>
-
- Next will see a screen resembling the one below, just choose a
- name/command that you would like your callers to access the BBSList
- from within PCBoard. (Recommended choices are BBSLIST) but you may
- name it whatever you want, just be sure that the path pointing to
- the BBSLIST.PPE file is correct <after all PCBoard must find the PPE
- file in order to execute it!>
-
-
- File Locations
-
- Command Security PPE/MNU File -or- Keystroke Replacement
- ══════════════ ════════ ═══════════════════════════════════════
- 1) BBSLIST 0 D:\PCB\PPE\BBSLIST\BBSLIST.PPE
-
-
- That's about it, if you added the above then Matrix should now be ready
- to run as a PCBoard command by your callers of course you should add it
- to your main menu so callers will see it as an option. <see note below>
-
- <note>
-
- You may also wish to create a MORE features Sub-menu <use the Submenu
- features of PCBoard v15.0 In this MORE Sub-Menu you could make available
- all the PPE programs you have installed <After ALL placing ALL PPE cmds
- and files in your main menu can get confusing!>. You then just instruct
- your callers where to look to find / run all the PPE files you may have
- recently installed on your system. Oh some other recommendations to
- place in your MORE features menu would be BBSLIST [PPE], ONELINERS [PPE]
- a QUOTE [PPE], a LOTTERY [PPE], etc..

-
- DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF BBSLIST.CNF CONFIGURATION ITEMS (LINES)
-
- Line 1: Whatever you wish to call your BBS List! Recommended names are;
- your BBS Name followed by the words BBSList. This will allow you
- to personalize this door for your system.
-
- Line 2: FileName you wish to use to store the BBS entries. This is the file
- which callers will be allowed to add their NEW entries into. Please
- note that you may edit the file with any Text Editor. The listing
- {for convinience purposes} is kept in a standard ASCII / TEXT file!
-
- Line 3: Path and Filename of util & Paramaters which BBSList will use to
- sort the listing. (Qsort recommended for this feature). If you
- do not make Qsort available then the listing will not be Sorted
- after each new entry!
-
- Line 4: Each feature inside the BBSList has a Title. IE --> if a caller uses
- the ADD command to ADD a NEW entry, BBSList correctly displays to the
- caller what part of the door they are currently in, you may wish to
- personalize these titles even more by changing the color code here.
- Any valid PCBoard color code is fine. NOTE! (FYI) you may have
- each feature CLEAR the screen as well, if you wish to do this in
- this field simply enter a; @cls@ followed by a valid PCBoard color
- code! For example; @CLS@@X0E would clear the screen and properly
- display the current feature title to the caller in the color which
- is selected right after the CLS code.
-
- Line 5: BBSList Main Prompt (Whatever you wish). Recommended is something
- simple but meaninfull, the default provided with this door is;
- (TimeLeft min Left) -> BBSList Command?
- ******NOTE****** That you have to add a question mark (?) at the
- end of this prompt in the CNF file!!!! This is of course if you
- wish to use a question mark. It is recommended that you do provide
- it at the end of the prompt however some sysops prefer to use some
- other character to signal end of the prompt and therefore this
- option of not / or using a question mark at the end of the prompt
- is included here for that reason alone.
-
- Line 6: BBSList SEARCH list for matches (text search) prompt
-
- Line 7: BBSList "Press [Enter] to continue" prompt message.
- Note that a '?' is automatically appended to the end of this
- prompt by PCBoard.
-
- Line 8: Show (Loading BBSList) when door is loaded 0=No, 1=Yes
- When a caller selects to run the BBSlist from within PCBoard you
- can instruct the caller by having BBSlist display a message similar
- to this; "Loading BBSList . . ." However you may also disable
- this by entering a Zero in this Configuration option line.

-
-
- Description: This command is a generic BBS List Text Search! You may
- use it to cross-reference any information. You may also
- use it to extract specific info from the listing.
-
- An example is if you wish to see only Systems within a
- certain area code, then you would specify the appropriate
- info to the BBSList Search prompt.
-
- When doing searches you should keep in mind that the
- listing is kept free-form as much as possible for
- convinience purposes... Therefore if you were looking
- for a "MODEM TYPE" and used "HST" as the keyword, then
- ALL entries which have HST as modem type would be displayed.
-
- HOWEVER if the entry was posted differently then your
- keyword might not work <or skip over a system> a good
- example is for say a BBS system which has post their
- modem type as USR! If USR had been used instead of
- HST then <of course> searches for HST would not work.
