- MAKEFREQ - By Chad Robinson
- Version 1.0 Public (8/9/93)
-
- Object: Though Ezycom has a nice utility to write file requestable
- file paths into a file for Frodo or a similar mailer utility
- to use for file requests, it does not allow the sysop to
- exclude areas. This utility does allow a sysop to exclude
- certain areas from file requestability in a simple form,
- and is also small enough and fast enough to be run in a daily
- or weekly maintenance routine.
-
- Installation and use:
- The only installation required is to copy this file somewhere to your path.
-
- 1) To use it, be sure your are in the directory containing FILEPATH.EZY
-
- 2) Run the program, and copy the resulting file FREQ.DIR either to your
- Frodo setup, or have Frodo look here for the avail listing...
-
-
- To set up a file path to be used or not, turn on/off the file not found
- message. If the message to be displayed is 'Not enough security' MAKEFREQ
- will not write the path to the file, assuming the path to be one you don't
- want nodes getting files from. But if the message is set to 'File not
- found' the path will be written.
-
- The Legal Garbage
- -----------------
- I hereby release the utility MAKEFREQ, written by me, and the ASM source code
- to the public domain for any and all to use. It would please me greatly to
- see this implemented somewhere in a future Ezycom release, and if Peter
- Davies would consider some method by which sysops can control file request
- directory creation a little better, that would do more for me than any
- registration fee.
-
- Now that that's out of the way, anybody can use it and anybody can use the
- software. In fact, I really don't cre if you give me credit in your docs
- except for the fact that's standard politeness nowadays. BUT, if you modify
- the code in any way or if you add to it (or make it better in any other way-
- I don't care if you make it worse... <G>) PLEASE send me a copy so I can
- learn what you did... Thanks!
