- What's New
- **********
-
- This version of Download Door is RipScript and ANSI aware. If your
- user is using a RipScript Communications program. Download Door
- will detect it and use the built in RipScript Graphics. If the user
- calls without RipScript but is using ANSI Download Door will show
- the ANSI screens. With RipScript the users will see 640x350x16
- graphics and will be able to use the mouse on clickable buttons to
- navagate thru the program. Note to SysOps: If the terminal is in
- Rip mode you will not see the Rip screens, instead you will view
- the RipScript Script files on your screens. Perhaps with the next
- generation of BBS soft- ware this will change. You do not have to
- be running a Rip aware BBS to use this software. Only your user
- must be calling with a Rip aware communications program.
-
- Set Up
- ******
-
- This is not a crippled program.
-
- Download Door is a TriBBS specific program. But will work with
- several different door drop files. I have not tried it with any
- other BBS types but, know of no reason why it would not work. (See
- below). This door can be set up as an extended menu option. This
- program was written to perform fast downloading of "International
- Online Magazine" but can be configured to download from one to nine
- files.
-
- If you are updating version 2.2 all you need to do is copy the file
- DOWNLOAD.EXE over the v2.2, and adjust the line length of your
- FILES.LST file to 70 characters per line or less. You are ready to go.
-
- If this is a new instalation follow the directions below.
-
-
- 1. Make a directory and copy all files but Download.Bat into the
- new directory. (YOU MUST HAVE! GSZ.EXE (c) "Omen Technology
- Inc.") Place GSZ.EXE into this Download Door subdirectory you
- just created.
-
- 2. Copy Download.Bat into the Tribbs Directory.
-
- 3. Edit the Download.Bat file to reflect the information for your
- setup.
-
- 4. Edit the Download.Cfg file to reflect the information for your
- setup and remove all comments from this file.
-
- 5. Edit the Files.lst file to reflect the descriptions of your files.
- Note : There is no specific format required of this file other
- than the lines should be no longer than 70 characters.
- I have included an example file, just follow the same
- format and you will have no problems with it.
-
-
- The first line of Download.cfg can be any of the following.
-
- PCB for PCBoard
- GAP for Gap, Wildcat 3.x or any BBS that drops Door.Sys
- RBBS for RBBS
- WC for Wilcat 2.x
- TRIBBS for TriBBS (I use Gaps door.sys for TriBBS)
- WWIV for WWIV
-
- 6. Edit the Download.dat file and remove the two comment lines.
- You can list from 1 to 9 files to be downloaded. One per line.
- The user selects which files they wish to download. Do not leave
- a blank line at the end of this file.
-
- (NOTE) The above files to edit, all have comments that will help you.
-
- The Download Door Door is now ready to run.
-
