- CONFIG.DOC
- ----------
- (latest changes marked with "|")
-
- The Cellar Door Mods have added two extra values to the RBBS-PC config file:
- Option 98 and 99 are saved in the CONFIG file and you must use the Cellar
- Door CONFIG.EXE version to config your RBBS def files!
-
- Conversion from stock rbbs config.def files to the CDor version is done
- automatically when you run the CDor version of CONFIG.EXE. The CDor version
- of CONFIG.EXE looks at the version number in your config.def file and if it
- is not a CDor modified config.def file, it will default custom options
- with predetermined values. When you run the CDor version of CONFIG.EXE on a
- stock config.def file, save it, then thereafter the CDor version of CONFIG.EXE
- will read the config.def and look at the version in the config.def file and
- 'know' it is a CDor config.def file and read in what you have set for customized
- options. Reversal of this is NOT POSSIBLE, in otherwords, once you run the
- CDor version of CONFIG.EXE on a config.def file and save it, the stock version
- of CONFIG.EXE will say that you do not have a 17.4 version config.def file and
- halt. To go back to stock, you will have to manually edit the config.def file
- and change the first characters from "17.4CDor" back to "17.4".
-
- The Cellar Door Mods will add an ASCII Character 255 to the end of the Public
- Sysop's Last Name. This is done automatically and is for the Alias mod to
- work for the sysop's secret name. Please read the CDOOR.DOC for information
- on how to set up this feature. This mod will not affect normal operation of
- RBBS, and is not reversible.
-
- Needless to say, backup your old config.def file(s) before you make the big
- change over!
-
