  1.                  The Blue Wave Mail Door Configuration Menu Help

  3.   C)hoose Message Areas for Download
  4.   ----------------------------------
  5.   Allows you to select and deselect which message areas you want to
  6.   download through The Blue Wave Mail Door.  When selecting areas, you are
  7.   presented with a choice to download ALL messages in the area, only
  8.   personal messages in the area, or Personal message *and* those addressed
  9.   to "All".

  11.   P)rotocol
  12.   ---------
  13.   Allows you to define the transfer protocol (Zmodem, Xmodem, ect.) that
  14.   you would like to use to transfer mail packets between your computer and
  15.   the BBS.

  17.   A)rchiver
  18.   ---------
  19.   Allows you to select the compression method you would like to use when
  20.   downloading your mail packet.  (ZIP, ARC, LZH, ARJ, etc.)

  24.   N)ew File Listings in Packets
  25.   -----------------------------
  26.   After packing your messages for download, The Blue Wave Mail Door will
  27.   scan the BBS file areas for new files since your last successful mail
  28.   download.  There are 3 choices for this option:

  30.   NO    - Do not bother building a new file listing.
  31.   YES   - Build a new file listing (text, no color).
  32.   COLOR - Build a new file listing, and include ANSI colors.

  34.   *** NOTE ***
  35.   The Sysop may have disabled this option on the configuration menu.

  38.   U)se Numerical Packet Extensions
  39.   --------------------------------
  40.   When The Blue Wave Mail Door builds your mail bundles, it normally names
  41.   the packet extensions with the day of the week and the number of the
  42.   packet for the day (MO1, TU2, WE7, TH1, etc).  If you would like you
  43.   packets to have sequential numeric extensions (001, 002, 003, etc), turn
  44.   this option ON.

  48.   G)raphics Mode (On/Off)

  50.   Normally, The Blue Wave Mail Door will use color if you have selected
  51.   to use color within the BBS.  However, you may turn COLOR off in the
  52.   door, if you like.

  54.   H)otkey Menu Selections
  55.   -----------------------
  56.   The Blue Wave Mail Door allows you to input most menu selections without
  57.   having to press [ENTER] to accept the command.  You may need to turn
  58.   Hotkeys off if you have frequent line noise.

  60.   B)undle Messages From You
  61.   -------------------------
  62.   If you turn this option OFF, the door will not bundle any messages into
  63.   your mail packet that have either your name or alias in the FROM: field.

  65.   X)pert Menu Mode
  66.   ----------------
  67.   Enables the door's EXPERT menus.  You should not use this option if you
  68.   are not familiar with the way The Blue Wave Mail Door operates.

  70.   R)eset Lastread Pointers
  71.   ------------------------
  72.   Allows you to change which messages The Blue Wave Mail Door thinks you
  73.   have read.  If you reset your pointers 3 days, this means the door will
  74.   attempt to send you 3 days worth of mail on your next download.

  76.   L)imit Download Packet Size
  77.   ---------------------------
  78.   The Blue Wave Mail Door allows you to define the MAXIMUM size of your
  79.   UNcompressed mail packet.  Set this option to "0" (Zero) if you do not
  80.   wish to limit your mail packet size.  Otherwise, you may set this to any
  81.   number greater than 50.  When the uncompressed size of your mail packet
  82.   exceeds your limit, the door will cease bundling and allow you to
  83.   download as much mail as will fit into your "packet size window".

  85.   S)et Password Options
  86.   ---------------------
  87.   The Blue Wave Mail System allows you to define a password as an "extra"
  88.   security measure against other people accessing your mail.  This command
  89.   will allow you to define your password and HOW the mail system is to USE
  90.   this password (door, reader, or both).

  92.   K)eyword Selection
  93.   ------------------
  94.   Allows you to define up to 10 keywords of up to 20 characters apiece.
  95.   When The Blue Wave Mail Door scans the BBS's message base for mail, you
  96.   will be informed of any keywords that are present in the various message
  97.   bases.  You can then use The Blue Wave Bundling Commands to download
  98.   ONLY the messages that contain these keywords.  Please see the reader's
  99.   documentation for more details.

  101.   F)ilter Selection
  102.   -----------------
  103.   Filters perform very similarly to the K)eywords option, but instead the
  104.   door will allow you to FILTER out the messages that you do not want to
  105.   download.  Again, please see the reader documentation for more details.

  107.   M)acro Definitions
  108.   ------------------
  109.   The Blue Wave Mail Door allows you to define 3 macros that you can use
  110.   for often-entered Bundling Commands.  Instead of typing a long,
  111.   cumbersome string each time you download mail, simply define a Macro!
  112.   At the command prompt, you can then simply type "M1", "M2", or "M3".
