- ***** AUTOPOST v3.2 ******
- (C) 1994 Heavenware Software
- Written by : Tom Wiseman
- Released Sep 16, 1994
-
- WARRANTY:
- ---------
- AUTOPOST is distributed without warranty. In no event will Tom Wiseman
- be liable to you for damages, including any loss of profits, lost savings,
- or other incidental or consequential damages arising out of your use of
- or inability to use this program, even if Tom Wiseman, or an authorized
- representative have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Tom Wiseman will not be liable for any such claim by any other party.
- Every possible means has been used to ensure the integrity of this
- program, but cannot be guaranteed to be bug or virus free.
-
-
- SHAREWARE CONCEPT:
- ------------------
- AUTOPOST is distributed as shareware, and may be used up to 30 days
- as a trial period, after which, you must either register this program
- by sending $10.00 U.S. dollars to:
- Tom Wiseman
- P.O. Box 9824
- Dyess AFB, Tx # 79607-9824
- or stop using it.
-
- REG BENEFITS:
- ------------
- With the key in place, the nag screen and extra delays will be bypassed,
- color schemes will be activated, security enforcement will be activated,
- the number of posts saved will be configurable, and you'll beable to
- configure it to allow the use of handles if you choose.
-
-
- REMEMBER, once registered, always registered, but to obtain any new
- releases or updates you must call my board, Seventh Heaven @ 915-698-9514.
-
- You may also contact me on my BBS at 915-698-9514 or Fido 1:392/20.
-
- I believe the cost for registration to be very reasonable. I have
- created this program with the user and Sysop alike in mind, and find
- it to be very flexible and easy to use. I hope that if you continue
- to use this program past the trial period that you will help to support
- the shareware concept by registering.
-
- I have always tried to support my products as much as is humanly possible,
- please... if you need help, contact me, even if you are not registered!
-
-
- COPYRIGHTS:
- -----------
- AUTOPOST has been written in Turbo Pascal 7.0, Copyright (c) 1992
- Borland International, and compiled using RMdoor 4.5 door interface,
- Copyright (c) 1991-1994 By Mark Goodwin and Randy Hunt.
-
- RMdoor is a door interface unit that currently has support for TriBBS,
- PCBoard, GAP (DOOR.SYS), Spitfire, Wildcat!, RBBS, and WWIV.
- Thus AUTOPOST will support these BBS's as we'll.
-
- SETTING IT ALL UP:
- ------------------
- 1. Copy all the files into whatever directory you'll be running it from.
-
- 2. Then edit APOST.CFG file to suit your board.
-
- Line 1: Door data file type
- Line 2: Path to the door data file(s)
- Line 3: BBS Name
- Line 4: Sysop's Name
- Line 5: Locked Baud Rate
-
- 3. Edit the APCFG.CFG file.
-
- [No Sec Ck] Line 1: Min security to write an automessage.
- [Light Blue] Line 2: Color for Bars.
- [Light Green] Line 3: Color for 'From:'.
- [Light Red] Line 4: Color for caller's name.
- [Light Mag] Line 5: Color for message text.
- [2] Line 6: Number of posts to keep before deleting first.
- [N] Line 7: Allow Handles (Y or N)
-
- If APCFG.CFG does not exist or if using an UNREG. copy, AutoPost
- will use the default settings which are indicated above in [ ].
-
-
- The color codes are listed below:
-
- 0 Black 9 Light Blue
- 1 Blue 10 Light Green
- 2 Green 11 Light Cyan
- 3 Cyan 12 Light Red
- 4 Red 13 Light Magenta
- 5 Magenta 14 Yellow
- 6 Brown 15 White
- 7 Light Gray +128 Blink
- 8 Dark Gray (^^^^^ Add 128 to 1 of these other #'s)
-
- 4. Create your batch file that will execute AUTO POST.
- Sample batch file shown below:
-
- @echo off
- cd\mybbs\apost
- apost32 apost.cfg
- cd\mybbs
-
- 5. Add AUTOPOST to your existing menu(s).
-
-
- Updating from previous versions.
- -------------------------------
-
- If you are updating from 1.0 you will need to copy all the new
- files over. Ver 3.0 has almost been totally rewritten since 1.0.
-
- If you are updating from 2.0 you only need to copy the .EXE file
- to your autopost directory and add line 6 to the APCFG.CFG file.
-
- If you are updating from 3.0, then just copy the .EXE file to
- your autopost directory.
-
- If you are updating from 3.1, you will need to add the Y or N
- on line 7 in the apcfg.cfg file. Case insensitive.
-
-
- THAT's IT!
-
- Now that we have that out of the way, please read the information
- below. It contains useful info. like function keys and the such.
-
-
- As shown above in STEP #2, the door's data file type is specified in
- line 1 and can be PCB for PCBoard, GAP for GAP (DOOR.SYS), SF for
- Spitfire, RBBS for RBBS, WC for Wildcat!, TRIBBS for TriBBS, or
- WWIV for WWIV.
-
- The Locked baud rate is specified in line 5. If the sysop doesn't
- lock his serial port, he must specify 0 for the locked baud rate
-
- NOTE: Although many door formats do pass the locked baud rate in the
- door data files, some older formats such as RBBS do not. For
- conformity, it is required that you specify the locked baud rate
- in line 5.
-
- The following is a sample door configuration file:
-
- GAP
- C:\ROBOFX\TEMP_1
- Seventh Heaven
- Tom Wiseman
- 38400
-
- AUTOPOST can be run locally without a door data file by specifying
- /L after the configuration file parameter in the DOS command line.
-
- Example of command line for Local:
-
- APOST32 APOST.CFG /L
-
- Upon executing a local run you will be requested to enter your
- name before running the door.
-
- NOTE: If the security setting (line 1 / apcfg.cfg) is at anything
- besides 0, you won't beable to write an automessage from a local
- run.
-
- Nonstandard IRQs can be used by specifying the IRQ number after the
- config parameter in the command line used to run the door as follows:
-
- APOST32 APOST.CFG IRQ
-
-
- Special Keys:
- ------------
- While the door is running, the sysop can press certain special keys to
- perform a variety of functions. The following is a list of those
- functions that the special keys perform:
-
- Key(s) Function
-
- HOME Toggles between the user status window and a help
- display that lists the RMDoor special keys.
-
- F6 Takes 5 minutes away from the caller.
- NOTE: This will NOT be returned to BBS, this is
- only for the door's use.
-
- F7 Gives 5 minutes to the caller.
- NOTE: This will NOT be returned to the BBS.
-
- F9 Quit the door and return the caller to the BBS.
-
- F10 Enter chat mode. Pressing the ESC key exits the
- chat mode.
-
- Alt+D Drop to DOS.
-
-
- Thankyou for trying AUTOPOST, I hope that you and your users will find
- it enjoyable.
