Transcription: NASA still needed to test the fragile lunar module. In March 1969, the crew of Apollo 9 conducted tests in Earth orbit during the first flight of an entire Apollo spacecraft. In May, the Apollo 10 crew conducted a further test, this time in lunar orbit. Despite a frightening spinning incident, the mission worked out well. Apollo 10 had been considered for the first lunar landing, but was restricted to a test because NASA felt its lunar lander was too heavy. Now it was all down to Apollo 11.
