- Assault I : The Beginning Version 1.2a
-
-
- Quick Note to users of previous versions:
- This version only differs from 1.2 in that 1.2 still
- required MMPM/2 to operate. This version hopefully
- has finally eliminated that need for people who
- do not run MMPM/2.
-
- Another item of concern is the assault.ini file.
- This file maintains the preferences, win/loss
- records etc. If you wish to maintain this information
- be sure to copy the assault.ini file from the
- older version into the directory where you have placed
- this version. (This requirement will be eliminated in
- the future with installation program to handle this
- for you.)
-
- One final note on version conflicts. Versions differing
- only by letter and not number WILL be compatible with
- each other. (ie 1.2 and 1.2a CAN play against each other),
- versions differing by number will NOT be able to play
- against each other.
-
-
- System Requirements:
- OS/2 2.1 and up
- 800x600x256 or greater screen resolution
- TCP/IP (TIA may work as client only)

-
- Fixes/Additions from 1.2:
- - MMPM/2 was still necessary in version 1.2, I think this
- patched version should fix this.
-
-
- Fixes/Additions from Version 1.1:
- - Fixed bug that the game will not end properly when one
- player has 0 pieces left
- - Previous 5 opponents and game results saved
- - Resign option added
- - Aliases allowed (Registered version only)
- - Sound initially off to allow folks without MMPM/2 to play
- - Various spelling errors corrected
- - Version control added, you will not be able to play a
- game against a different version of Assault, but you can
- still chat to inform the other person of this.
- - Socket code patched to close the server correctly
- (Thanks to Sophisto! (Stephen Loomis) for this).
-
-
-
- Fixes/Additions from 1.0 Beta:
- - too numerous to mention
