  9. QBox is a SHAREWARE utility that is designed to aid you, the user, in
  10. launching applications and CLI programs.
  11.  
  12. QBox, can be used to save typing in CLI by enabling you to specify
  13. button/menu text and associated command line calls (and even scripts)
  14. simply, with no fuss or hassle.
  15.  
  16. Many utilities have attempted (some even succeeding) to fill this role,
  17. however, complicated preference systems, command data restrictions,
  18. workbench reliance and extortionate registration costs have dogged most,
  19. if not all, such systems. The QBox project is an attempt to fill these
  20. gaps.
  21.  
  22. Ideally suited to startup script selection, quick "no startup-seq" command
  23. interfacing and generally improving program access whether using workbench
  24. or not.
  25.  
  26. QBox can execute any AmigaDos script or run ones stored with button/menu
  27. data in a QBox preference file.
  28.  
  29. This EVALUATION version has the following limitations:
  30. * No preference editors (guide documents manual prefs editing)
  31. * Button matrix may only reach 4 buttons wide by 4 buttons deep
  32. * User Defined Menus may only hold 3 menu items
  33. * Occasionally a forced sticky About window appears that stays on screen 5
  34.   seconds after clicking a mouse button.
  35. * Menu and Button I/O buffers may only reach a maximum of 1024 characters
  36.   (restricting script definition lengths)  
  37.  
  38. All these restrictions are not present in the full REGISTERED version
  39. available for £3.50 (mainland UK) or £5.00 (overseas).
