  20.     Description
  21.     ===========
  22.     El-CID is a small program which enables you to make use of the CallerID
  23.     function built into your modem.  If your modem supports this function,
  24.     and it's properly set up, El-CID will notify you of any incoming calls
  25.     directly on your screen.  El-CID also pops up on the frontmost public
  26.     screen, so there is no need to flip screens to see who is calling.

  29.     Requirements
  30.     ============
  31.     El-CID should work on all Amigas equipped with at least OS 2.04, but it
  32.     also makes use of some new features present only in OS 3.0 and higher.
  33.     El-CID uses about 56KB of memory when no phonebook is loaded.  This does
  34.     not take into account if bgui.library is loaded into memory or not.

  36.     El-CID requires the following for proper operation;
  37.  
  38.         * A modem that has a built-in CallerID function.
  39.  
  40.         * The bgui.library in LIBS:, version 39 or higher.
  41.  
  42.     El-CID uses the excellent OwnDevUnit.library if it is present.  That
  43.     means that you do not have to quit El-CID when another program needs the
  44.     device currently in use by El-CID.  This does however require the other
  45.     program to use OwnDevUnit.library too.

  49.     ========
  50.     Most of the following features are things I wanted myself, but I do hope
  51.     that they appeal to you too.

  53.         * Uses new features of OS 2.1, OS 3.0 or higher.
  54.  
  55.         * It is a commodity, and can be enabled/disabled at any time.
  56.  
  57.         * It uses BGUI.library for its GUI and commodity interface.
  58.  
  59.         * Uses OwnDevUnit.library if available.
  60.  
  61.         * It pops up on the frontmost public screen.
  62.  
  63.         * Displays the date and time in localized form.  OS 2.1+
  64.  
  65.         * User may specify device and unit to use.
  66.  
  67.         * Simple phonebook, displaying the name of the caller.
  68.  
  69.         * Simple call logging, with date, time and caller.
