Transcription: This activity is about the nuclei of atoms and their component nucleons. What nuclei exist and of those which nuclei are stable? What is special about the stable nuclei? And what happens to unstable nuclei? How do they decay? The decay of unstable nuclei is what gives rise to radioactivity. And we look at the randomness of radioactive decay processes and how the measurement of radioactive decay can be used to determine the age of objects such as a fossil dinosaur bone.
