  1. Several problems were found and solved after version 3.01 was released:
  2.  
  3.     * Fixed the root mapping problem that occurred with the 16-bit Novell
  4.       Netware VLM Client.  (If you don't know what "root mapping" or a VLM
  5.       Client is, you probably did not experience this problem)
  6.  
  7.     * Fixed a problem where CD-ROMs on a Windows '95 system could sometimes
  8.       not be scanned.
  9.  
  10.     * The scanner now works properly in interactive mode on some older
  11.       display-types (MDA, CGA and some EGA), where it would previously
  12.       not run or just display a blank screen.
  13.  
  14. We have also made some improvements to F-PROT:
  15.  
  16.     * Data files created by the SYSTAT program with the extension .SYS 
  17.       used to be scanned as if they were device drivers, but as they were
  18.       not, the scanning took unacceptably long.
  19.  
  20.     * We speeded the decompression of DIET-compressed files up so much
  21.       that they are now scanned by default (instead of being only scanned
  22.       if /PACKED is specified).  We hope to add a similar speedup of
  23.       LZEXE and PKLITE-compressed files in the future.

  25.     * Some viruses may attempt to infect the COMMAND.COM file under Windows
  26.       95, without noticing that it is really an .EXE file with a .COM
  27.       extension.  The result is a file that will not load, but is not
  28.       infected correctly, so the scanner will not find any virus.  F-PROT
  29.       now detects this, and reports such files as "could be a corrupted COM
  30.       file".

  32. We have of course added detection/disinfection of more viruses, bringing
  33. the total number of viruses and destructive programs that F-PROT
  34. recognizes to 21,000.
  35.  
  36. Version 3.02a additions:
  37.  
  38.     * We fixed a bug which caused F-PROT to crash when a program named
  39.       ACE.EXE was scanned.
  40.  
  41.     * We added "on-the-fly" decompression of LZEXE-packed files.
  42.  
  43.     * We added detection/disinfection of 22 viruses, as well as adding
  44.       disinfection of some viruses that were only detected previously.
