  14. Part 1 - Important information

  16. - Before you begin:
  17. It is a good practice to backup all databases as well as the SQL
  18. Sever NT machine before installing any type of software. Also,
  19. make sure that you have an updated Emergency Repair Disk.
  20.  
  21. - Executing Db Maint tasks: 
  22. If you have any problems when executing Db Maint tasks, check
  23. the SQL Server errorlog.
  24.  
  25. - SQL Server user connections:
  26. The Db Maint server uses two connections and the Db Maint client
  27. uses up to five connections. 
  28.  
  29. - Creating a new Task:
  30. After creating a new task, run the task and verify that it
  31. executes properly.
  32.  
  33. - Open Databases (6.5 only):
  34. Make sure that the SQL Server configuration parameter 'Open 
  35. databases' is set to at least the number of databases in your
  36. SQL Server.

  38. - Open Objects (6.5 only):
  39. Make sure that the SQL Server configuration parameter 'Open 
  40. objects' is set to at least the number of objects (tables, stored
  41. procedures etc.) in your SQL Server. SQL Server will log this in
  42. the NT Server Event log.
