- Part 1 - Important information
-
- - Before you begin:
- It is a good practice to backup all databases as well as the SQL
- Sever NT machine before installing any type of software. Also,
- make sure that you have an updated Emergency Repair Disk.
-
- - Executing Db Maint tasks:
- If you have any problems when executing Db Maint tasks, check
- the SQL Server errorlog.
-
- - SQL Server user connections:
- The Db Maint server uses two connections and the Db Maint client
- uses up to five connections.
-
- - Creating a new Task:
- After creating a new task, run the task and verify that it
- executes properly.
-
- - Open Databases (6.5 only):
- Make sure that the SQL Server configuration parameter 'Open
- databases' is set to at least the number of databases in your
- SQL Server.
-
- - Open Objects (6.5 only):
- Make sure that the SQL Server configuration parameter 'Open
- objects' is set to at least the number of objects (tables, stored
- procedures etc.) in your SQL Server. SQL Server will log this in
- the NT Server Event log.
