  6. You've downloaded a fully functional text-to-speech (english and spanish language) activeX 
  7. control. You can use it in the applications you develop. Full version includes German and the
  8. complete source code.

  21. Unzip your downloaded file, run setup and that's it... 
  22. You shouldn't have any trouble installing PCTALK1E, but in case you do, just contact me.

  51. PCTALK1E PROPERTIES:
  52.  
  53. -Duration: depending upon your need you can either have a faster speech with less pronunciation
  54.  quality or slower speech with better quality of pronunciation.
  55.  The typical range stretches from 0.2 to 4 (the larger this value the slowest the speech
  56.  you get). 
  57.  
  58. -Volumen: you can control the volume of your speech (typical values 1 to 32000).
  59.  
  60. -Phrase: this property contains the string of letters which are transformed into speech.
  61.  Variables assigned to this property must be string type ones.
  62.  
  63. -frequency: this property allows to listen the text at different pitches. Its range goes
  64.  from 0.5 to 2 (0.5 is half the pitch, 2 is twice the pitch and 1 is the natural pitch).

  66. -namewavfile: filename of the .wav file. Defaulted to "c:\". For example if you want to name
  67.  your file "myfile", you assign to the property namewavfile the string "myfile" (without the
  68.  .wav extension) and your file will be created in "c:\myfile.wav". If you want to use another
  69.  subdirectory like "c:\windows\media", assign to the property namewavfile the string
  70.  "windows\media\myfile" (without the .wav extension).

  72. -language: Assign a zero "0" for Spanish
  73.            Assign a one  "1" for English 
  74.            Assign a two  "2" for German (only registered version)

  76. PCTALK1E METHODS:
  77.  
  78. -Listentext: this is the method that actually converts text into speech.
  79.  Make sure to have assigned proper values to the duration, volumen, frequency and phrase 
  80.  properties before using this method.

  82. -makewavfile: this method converts the string in the phrase property into the .wav file.
  83.  Make sure to have assigned a proper filename to the namewavfile property before using this
  84.  method.

  86. ENGLISH LANGUAGE

  88. All the words recognized by the control are found in the file english.txt, you can add, delete
  89. or modify the words according to the pronunciation you like.(Contact me for more details)

  91. EXAMPLE PROYECT:

  93. There's an example proyect which uses PCTALK1E. Just place the mouse pointer over the controls
  94. of the form to listen to what their tooltiptext property contains. Just open Visual Basic,
  95. click on proyect, then click on components and then check PCTALK1E. Then on the toolbox, click
  96. on PCKTALK1E and then draw it on the form.
