  8. About Agile ColorWeb
  9. --------------------
  10.  
  11. Agile ColorWeb makes picking colors for web pages quick and easy, but more
  12. importantly, it ensures that the colors you choose will display correctly
  13. on a range of platforms and browsers.
  14.  
  15. The problem with colors on the web is that your carefully chosen colors
  16. may display completely differently on someone else's machine. What is worse,
  17. you won't even know about it.

  19. Agile ColorWeb saves you this embarassment!

  65. We are a small business based in Cambridge UK, dedicated to producing
  66. software which is genuinely useful and works hard so that you don't
  67. have to.
  68.  
  69. You will find that a lot of attention is paid to the user interface and
  70. the finer details of how you want to operate in our software. This is
  71. because every product has been produced for our own use, and so has had
  72. vocal feedback from users since its conception.

  74. We also want to hear what you think.

  76. Compware started in 1983, selling peripherals and software, and realised
  77. immediately that the only way to succeed in business is to identify what
  78. people will find useful and concentrate all your efforts on maintaining
  79. that position. From very early on, we started producing our own software,
  80. so that we were able to design the products for users needs rather than
  81. just pick the best from a not always so wonderful bunch.

  83. HTML EDITING
  84.  
  85. We also produce an excellent HTML editor with more innovations in its user
  86. interface than it is practical to describe here. If you aren't absolutely
  87. 100% satisfied with your current web authoring package then you really
  88. should evaluate our "Agile HTML Editor". At least take a look at it on
  89. our web site.

  91. If nothing else, it has the features of Agile ColorWeb built in, so you
  92. could save yourself the ColorWeb registration fee!

  94. TELETEXT
  95.  
  96. In addition to the on-line world of the Web, we also specialise in software
  97. which makes the most of the Teletext broadcasting system. If you use Teletext
  98. and don't think that it works as well as it could, you need look no further
  99. than our web pages (see CONTACT POINTS below). Take a look at the TvText
  100. Teletext Viewer for the best Windows Teletext sofware available.

  103. PLATFORMS

  106. Agile ColorWeb runs under
  107.     - Microsoft Windows 95 (4.0 and above)
  108.     - Microsoft Windows NT (3.51 and above)
  109.  
  110. DISK SPACE
  111.  
  112. ColorWeb will take up to 1.5MB of disk space when installed, depending
  113. on how many of the required system files are already present on your
  114. system.
  115.  
  116. Approximately 3MB of space will be required during the installation.

  119. INSTALLING COLORWEB
  120. -------------------

  122. ColorWeb installs into "C:\Program Files\Agile ColorWeb", or an
  123. alternative directory which you may specify. It may also install
  124. some additional files into your Windows directories if they are not
  125. already present.
  126.  
  127. During installation, ColorWeb records details of all files and other
  128. changes made to your system, such as registy entries, and provides
  129. an uninstall program so that the entire installation can be removed
  130. easily.

  132. Installing ColorWeb is simple, but the precise details depend on the
  133. form in which you have obtained it. ColorWeb can be obtained on disk,
  134. in partially compressed form, or downloaded in a compressed .ZIP
  135. archive file.
  136.  
  137. FLOPPY DISK
  138.  
  139. The disk version is ready for installation immediately. Start
  140. Windows and then run "setup.exe" directly from the disk. Now
  141. see "AFTER INSTALLATION" below.

  143. ZIP ARCHIVE
  144.  
  145. If you download the software you will receive it in a .ZIP archive
  146. file which must be extracted before you can install ColorWeb You must
  147. extract the software from the archive into a temporary directory,
  148. using a program such as PKUNZIP (for DOS) or WinZip (for Windows).
  149.  
  150. It is beyond the scope of this document to explain how to use
  151. these (or other archive extraction programs), so please refer to
  152. the documentation for the particular archive extraction program
  153. you have available.
  154.  
  155. Having extracted the files into a temporary directory, you can now
  156. run "setup.exe". Now see "AFTER INSTALLATION" below.

  158. AFTER INSTALLATION
  159.  
  160. The installation program creates items on the Start Menu for starting
  161. ColorWeb and accessing help and readme files.
  162.  
  163. UNINSTALLING COLORWEB
  164.  
  165. To remove an installation of ColorWeb:
  166.     1) Open Control Panel from the Start Menu using the "Settings" sub menu.
  167.     2) Choose "Add/Remove Software" which will open a properties dialog.
  168.     3) Choose "Agile ColorWeb" within the dialog.

  170. IMPORTANT
  171.  
  172. Before you forget, please make a backup copy of the ColorWeb
  173. installation files. If you don't, you are bound to need it!

  203. Evaluation copies are available free on-line (see CONTACT POINTS) or
  204. on disk from Compware for a small charge. Details and order form can

  207. The file LICENSE.TXT explains the terms and conditions under which
  208. you are permitted to evaluate ColorWeb. If you adhere to the terms
  209. and conditions described, you are permitted to evaluate ColorWeb for
  210. the period specified, and after that, must either
  211.   stop using ColorWeb; or
  212.   register to obtain a full license.
