  1. Listed below are all the fatal error messages that can occur.
  2.    Fatal errors are program problems that can not be corrected
  3.    within the program itself.  All fatal errors, starting with
  4.    "Error", are described along with their meaning and corrective
  5.    action.    
  6.  
  7. Caution:
  8.    Since most of these errors are file related, be sure to read
  9.    the "Restoring Files" section that follows these error 
  10.    message descriptions.

  12. Enter A Bill - Error Messages:
  13.    "Error 101: Read error on VEN"
  14.    "Error 102: Read error on CAT"
  15.  
  16.    These error messages indicate that the company or catagory 
  17.    you selected from the list box could not be read.  Since this
  18.    is a memory resident window, exit completely out of the 
  19.    program and try again.  Do not take a back-up while exiting.
  20.    If the problem persists, restore the company file (VEN) or
  21.    catagory file (CAT).

  23. Company Information - Error Message:
  24.    "Error 201: Delete error on VEN"
  25.  
  26.    This error message indicates the company you selected to delete
  27.    could not be read.  Since this is a memory resident window,
  28.    exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do not 
  29.    take a back-up while exiting, as if the problem persists, you
  30.    will need to restore the company file.

  32. Company Special Options - Error Message:
  33.    "Error 301: Read error on VEN"
  34.  
  35.    This error message indicates that the company you selected on
  36.    the previous "Company Information" window could not be read.
  37.    Exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do not take
  38.    a back-up while exiting.  If the problem persists, restore
  39.    the company file.
  40.  
  41. Company Summary Information - Error Message:
  42.    "Error 401: Read error on VEN"
  43.  
  44.    This error message indicates that the company you selected on
  45.    the previous "Company Information" window could not be read.
  46.    Exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do not take
  47.    a back-up while exiting.  If the problem persists, restore
  48.    the company file.
  49.  
  50. Pay Bills - Error Messages:
  51.    "Error 501: Read error on VEN"
  52.    "Error 502: Read error on CAT"
  53.  
  54.    These error messages indicate that the company or catagory 
  55.    you selected from the list box could not be read.  Since this
  56.    is a memory resident window, exit completely out of the 
  57.    program and try again.  Do not take a back-up while exiting.
  58.    If the problem persists, restore the company file (VEN) or
  59.    catagory file (CAT).

  61. Select Bills to Pay - Error Message:
  62.    "Error 601: Read error on VOU"
  63.  
  64.    This error message indicates that the bill you selected in the 
  65.    list box could not be read.  Exit completely out of the program 
  66.    and try again.  Do not take a back-up while exiting.  If the 
  67.    problem persists, restore the bill file.
  68.  
  69. Change a Bill - Error Message:
  70.    "Error 701: Read error on VEN"
  71.  
  72.    This error message indicates that the company for the bill you 
  73.    are changing has been deleted.  Probably the company file
  74.    was restored without restoring the bill file.  To correct this 
  75.    error, delete the incorrect bill, then re-enter both the 
  76.    company and bill.  If the problem persists, restore all 
  77.    files.

  79.    "Error 702: Read error on CAT"
  80.  
  81.    This error message indicates that the catagory for the bill you 
  82.    are changing has been deleted.  Probably the catagory file 
  83.    was restored without restoring the bill file, or a catagory was
  84.    deleted with outstanding bills.  To correct this error, delete
  85.    the incorrect bill, then re-enter it.  If the problem persists,
  86.    restore all files.

  88. Print Checks - Error Message:
  89.    "Error 801: Read error on FRM"
  90.    
  91.    This error message indicates that the check form record could
  92.    not be read.  Exit completely out of the program and try again.
  93.    Do not take a back-up while exiting.  If the problem persists,
  94.    restore the form file.
  95.   
  96. Check Form Setup - Error Message:
  97.    "Error 901: Read error on FRM"
  98.    
  99.    This error message indicates that the check form record could
  100.    not be read.  Exit completely out of the program and try again.
  101.    Do not take a back-up while exiting.  If the problem persists,
  102.    restore the form file.

  104. Catagory Information - Error Message:
  105.    "Error 1001: Delete error on CAT"
  106.  
  107.    This error message indicates the catagory you selected to delete
  108.    could not be read.  Since this is a memory resident window,
  109.    exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do not 
  110.    take a back-up while exiting, as if the problem persists, you
  111.    will need to restore the catagory file.

  113. Bank Account Information - Error Message:
  114.    "Error 1101: Read error on BNK"
  115.  
  116.    This error message indicates the bank you selected to delete
  117.    could not be read.  Since this is a memory resident window,
  118.    exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do not 
  119.    take a back-up while exiting, as if the problem persists, you
  120.    will need to restore the bank file.

  122. Check Register - Error Message:
  123.    "Error 1201: Read error on HST"
  124.  
  125.    This error message indicates the check you selected in the 
  126.    list box could not be read.  Since this is a memory resident 
  127.    window, exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do
  128.    not take a back-up while exiting, as if the problem persists,
  129.    you will need to restore the history file.

  131. Enter a Check - Error Message:
  132.    "Error 1801: Read error on CAT"
  133.    
  134.    This error message indicates that the catagory you selected in 
  135.    the list box could not be read.  Exit completely out of the 
  136.    program and try again.  Do not take a back-up while exiting.  
  137.    If the problem persists, restore the catagory file.
  138.  
  139. Enter a Withdrawl - Error Message:
  140.    "Error 2001: Read error on CAT"
  141.    
  142.    This error message indicates that the catagory you selected in 
  143.    the list box could not be read.  Exit completely out of the 
  144.    program and try again.  Do not take a back-up while exiting.  
  145.    If the problem persists, restore the catagory file.

  147. The Bill Drawer - Main Menu - Error Message:
  148.    "Error 9001: Read error on BNK"
  149.  
  150.    This error message indicates the bank you selected in the list 
  151.    box could not be read.  Since this is a memory resident window,
  152.    exit completely out of the program and try again.  Do not 
  153.    take a back-up while exiting, as if the problem persists, you
  154.    will need to restore the bank file.

  156. General File Errors: 
  157.    "Error 9901: Index capacity exceeded on VEN"
  158.    You have exceeded the capacity to store companies in the file
  159.    index.  Presently, 200 companies are supported.
  160.  
  161.    "Error 9902: Delete error on VEN"
  162.    The company name could not be found in the file index.
  163.    Restore the company file.
  164.  
  165.    "Error 9903: Index capacity exceeded on VOU"
  166.    You have exceeded the capacity to store bills in the file
  167.    index.  Presently, 500 unpaid bills are supported.
  168.  
  169.    "Error 9904: Delete error on VOU"
  170.    The internal record number could not be found in the file 
  171.    index.  Restore the bill file.

  173.    "Error 9905: Delete error on CAT"
  174.    The catagory name could not be found in the file index.
  175.    Restore the catagory file.
  176.  
  177.    "Error 9906: Index capacity exceeded on CAT"
  178.    You have exceeded the capacity to store catagories in the file
  179.    index.  Presently, 50 catagories are supported.

  181.    "Error 9907: Help text file not found"
  182.    The requested help text file, DOS extension ".HLP", could
  183.    not be found.  Perhaps they were deleted, or not copied to 
  184.    the current directory.  Restore them from the install diskette.

  186.    "Error 9908: Seek error on VEN"
  187.    The company internal record number is incorrect, according to the
  188.    file index.  Restore the company file.

  190.    "Error 9909: Seek error on CAT"
  191.    The catagory internal record number is incorrect, according to the
  192.    file index.  Restore the catagory file.

  194. Restoring Files:
  195.    The bill file contains pointers to the associated company and 
  196.    catagory files.  Do not restore the company and catagory files,
  197.    without also restoring the bill file.

  199.    The history file contains a pointer to the bank file.  Do not 
  200.    restore the history file, without also restoring the bank file.
  201.  
  202.    The safest approach is to always back-up and restore all files
  203.    together.
