  31.   By installing this program, WinSpell 3.0d, here after known as
  32.   Program, you accept the terms and conditions as per this licence

  35.   R&TH Inc. will have no obligation to provide technical support or updates
  36.   or upgrades to Company under this Agreement.  R&TH Inc. licenses the
  37.   Software solely on an "AS IS" basis.

  39.   Users are granted a limited license to use the Program for a single 
  40.   evaluation period not to exceed 30 days in order to determine if it 
  41.   suits their needs.  Any other use of the Program or use past this 
  42.   period requires that you obtain a Licensed, non-demonstration copy 
  43.   of WinSpell through R&TH Inc. or your local software store.

  45.   You may copy this version of the Program, WinSpell 3.0d, and only
  46.   this version, for the purpose of allowing others to try it, subject
  47.   to the above restrictions as well as the following.

  51.   documentation, and other files.  File compression (archival) is

  63.   Bulletin Board system operators may post the Program on their BBS
  64.   for downloading by their users without written permission only if

  66.   necessary to access the WinSpell files with the exception of
  67.   general BBS usage fees.

  69.   Distributors of User-Supported and Public Domain software must,
  70.   without exception, obtain written permission from R&TH INC. before
  71.   distributing the Program and must follow the above conditions.

  73. RELEASE NOTES:
  74.   The standard WinSpell Dictionaries are referred to as COMMON.DCT
  75.   FULL.DCT throughout the documentation.  We have changed their names
  76.   to COMMON.WSD and FULL.WSD to more clearly distinguish them from the
  77.   User Dictionaries, which use the .DCT extension by default.

  79.   WinSpell unchecks the "Use Clipboard Editor" after the initial
  80.   Search and Replace operation on the Clipboard.  This is because
  81.   WinspEdt can and will load multiple copies of itself at WinSpell's
  82.   request.  You really only want to use one WinspEdt session for
  83.   Clipboard correction.
  84.  
  85. TROUBLE-SHOOTING:
  86.   If WinSpell doesn't beep when you misspell a word, either you have
  87.   not added the window into which you are typing to WinSpell, or you
  88.   have not set your Enable System Sounds check box in the Sounds applet
  89.   of the Windows Control Panel.  This must be on for WinSpell to be
  90.   able to access Windows sound abilities.
  91.  
  92.   WinSpell does not auto-attach its keyboard to your application.
  93.   Make sure you have an association (Settings|Associations...
  94.   menu item) for the application.  If the application does not
  95.   have a Search and Replace facility, simply associate it with the
  96.   NO_MACRO.JNL file.  NO_MACRO.JNL is a file which contains no
  97.   pre-recorded keystrokes and thus does nothing.  However, since
  98.   there is a macro file associated with your application, WinSpell
  99.   will auto-attach the keyboard spelling monitor whenever the
  100.   application is started.
  101.  
  102.   Your application has a Search and Replace facility but WinSpell
  103.   doesn't have a matching journal file.  WinSpell can help you create,
  104.   store and associate a new Search and Replace macro journal file
  105.   to use with your application.  See the Help or The User's Manual
  106.   and Reference for information about how to create and association
  107.   the macro.
  108.  
  109.   Search and Replace operations don't always act quite right.
  110.   Some applications have idiosyncrasies with respect to the Search
  111.   and Replace dialog boxes they implement.  You should generally
  112.   close the Search and Replace dialogs after each global correction
  113.   of a word in your documents before starting another correction.
  114.   Additionally, many presentation applications have additional
  115.   options such as Check All Slides or Entire Presentation.  Make
  116.   sure the correct options are set such that the Search and Replace
  117.   operation will catch all your slides.  See the WinSpell User's
  118.   Manual and Reference for information about using the Search and
  119.   Replace document correction facility.  Additionally, see the
  120.   "Search and Replace" Tips in the WinSpell Help.

  122. INSTALLATION NOTES:
  123.   In order to install WinSpell Release 3.0, you must use the
  124.   WinSpell installation program.  The files are compressed and
  125.   cannot simply be copied and renamed.
  126.  
  127.   Delete the versions 1.70 and below of WinSpell completely.
  128.   Release 3.0 is not backward compatible with the dictionary files.
  129.   If you have personal dictionary files you still want to use,
  130.   execute the DCT2ASC utility to convert the dictionaries to a text
  131.   file.  See your previous documentation for details.  WinSpell
  132.   Release 3.0 can read text files and merge them into the new
  133.   User Dictionaries.
  134.  
  135.   If WinSpell complains about the format of a dictionary and you
  136.   have WinSpell 1.70 or below, WinSpell is probably still
  137.   attempting to load the older format dictionaries.  Use the
  138.   Settings/All... dialog box to reference the correct dictionary
  139.   (which is where you just installed WinSpell).
  140.  
  141.   If WinSpell complains that the "Table is Full", you are not
  142.   running the correct WINSPELL.EXE.  Reset the Properties... via
  143.   the File/Properties... of the Program Manager.  Also, if you
  144.   are running the incorrect version, you are probably also
  145.   referencing incorrect dictionaries.  See the previous paragraph
  146.   for details.

  148. The following is a short explanation for each file:
  149.  
  150.     WINSPELL.EXE - WinSpell's main executable.  This is the file that
  151.                    you will want to add to your program manager in
  152.                    Windows, or have Windows load via the "load=" option
  153.                    in WIN.INI.
  154.  
  155.                    WINSPELL.EXE is required for proper operation.
  156.  
  157.     WINSPEDT.EXE - WinSpell's Accessory Editor.  This is a simple
  158.                    text editor which WinSpell uses to perform Search
  159.                    and Replace operations on the Clipboard.
  160.  
  161.                    WINSPEDT.EXE is required for proper operation.
  162.  
  163.     WINSPDLL.DLL - WinSpell's dynamic link library.
  164.  
  165.                    WINSPDLL.DLL is required for proper operation.
  166.  
  167.     WINSPELL.HLP - WinSpell's Help file for use in Windows Help.
  168.  
  169.                    WINSPELL.HLP is not required for proper operation.
  170.  
  171.     FULL.WSD     - WinSpell Standard Dictionary.
  172.  
  173.                    FULL.DCT is generally required for proper operation.
