  6. Version 2.0 New Features and Enhancements:
  7.  
  8. * Auto Minimize/Restore - TaskView can automatically 
  9.    minimize when not in use and will automatically 
  10.    restore when touched with the cursor. This will help 
  11.    increase desktop space.
  12.  
  13. * Horizontal/Vertical Positions - TaskView can be 
  14.    displayed horizontally or vertically on the desktop.
  15.  
  16. * Preloaded Applications - Applications can be added to 
  17.    the taskbar and be launched then switched to. Taskview 
  18.    is able to display only the preloaded apps and can be 
  19.    used just as a launch bar.
  20.  
  21. * 3D Appearance - The taskbar has been visually redesigned 
  22.    to give a 3D look.
  23.  
  24. * Caption Strip - Taskview changes into a small strip that
  25.   neatly fits into the caption bar of a maximized app (like the
  26.   one used in MS Office).
  27.  
  28. * ToolTips - TaskView will display the name of the 
  29.    task when the cursor is over the appropriate button,
  30.    similar to Microsoft Office applications.
  31.  
  32. * Currently Running Lights - TaskView can display a
  33.    light on each button that will tell if a Preloaded 
  34.    App is running.
  35.  
  36. * Context Sensitive Menus - When the middle mouse button
  37.    is clicked over a button on the taskbar a menu will
  38.    appear with selections giving you control of that task.
  39.  
  40. * AutoShape - Taskview will automatically adjust its
  41.    shape and size to make sure all tasks fit within 
  42.    the desktop space.
  43.  
  44. * File Utilities - Taskview has a File Finder, a 
  45.    Run/Browse utility and a Task Operations utility.
  46.    The File Finder lets you find files and 
  47.    delete/copy/move them. The Task Operations utility
  48.    lets you control the desktop and its current windows.

  50. * Redesigned Options dialog - A tabbed dialog box allows 
  51.    fast and easy access to TaskViews options.

  55. If you have an aversion to Install programs, you can 
  56. manually install TaskView by doing the following:
  57.  
  58. Note: ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE MANUALLY
  59. INSTALLING.  IF YOU WANT THE INSTALLER
  60. TO DO THE WORK, THEN PRESS THE CONTINUE 
  61. BUTTON AND SIT BACK. 
  62.  
  63. 1. Press the Continue button to close this readme file.
  64. 2. At this point the installation process will begin.
  65. 3. Press the Cancel button to stop it and go to DOS 
  66.    (or use the File Manager to perform the equivalent steps
  67.    described below).
  68. 4. Make a TaskView directory (call it what you want).
  69. 5. Copy TASKVIEW.EXE and TASKVIEW.HLP to the above 
  70.    directory.
  71. 6. Copy the Library Files (*.DLL) to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM 
  72.    directory.
  73.  
  74. If any of these instuctions don't make sense, then use the
  75. Install program to do it for you.
