  5. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
  6. ----------------------
  7.  
  8. !!! You MUST make a backup of the file - webedit.exe
  9.     before running this crack !!!
  10.  
  11. Reason :-
  12.  
  13. 1.  This patch alters one byte of webedit.exe to enable
  14.     you to register using your name.
  15. 2.  Once registered, webedit.exe will save your name
  16.     and the appropriate s/n in the registry.
  17. 3.  However, this byte that is altered is also used for
  18.     other purposes (not only for registration).
  19. 4.  So, after you register, delete the patched .exe file
  20.     and substitute it with the backup file.
  21.  
  22. (for those who do not understand my English)
  23.  
  24. Step-by-step instruction :
  25.  
  26. 1.  Make a backup copy of webedit.exe
  27.     (e.g. you can use Explorer to copy that file to
  28.     another directory or copy it as webedit.bak)
  29. 2.  Copy the crack/patch file to the same directory as
  30.     webedit.exe (e.g. c:\program\files\webedit\)
  31. 3.  Run the crack.
  32. 4.  Run webedit pro and register.
  33. 5.  Exit webedit pro.
  34. 6.  Delete the patched webedit.exe.
  35. 7.  Copy the original webedit.exe back to the webedit
  36.     directory (or rename it back to webedit.exe if
  37.     you have copied it as webedit.bak earlier)
