The Hellraiser virus when activated will seek out and infect
one file on a disk givin the disk contains more than two
subdirectorys.
If the virus is activated on the last Friday of the month, the
system will hang and repeatedly display the message "HELLRAISER",
in huge block letters. Along with this display the virus will
keep resetting the video mode over and over, thus possibly causing
damage to certian EGA/VGA monitors.
NOTE: If a the virus detectes a monochrome monitor when it
activates on the last Friday of the month, the display will not be
shown. What will happen is that the virus will pick out and
format a random sector of hard drive C:
The virus is encrypted using a random method which provides 65535
different keys for encryption. When the virus is de-crypted it
contains the string:
"SKISM"
