|DATA ENTRY\
General: When the program is first run, it assumes that you wish to enter
new data. If you wish to use data that was previously entered,
answer 'N' for NO at the 'New Data (Y/N)' prompt. If you enter
'Y', the program will load from the file name given.
Reports: Enter client information in fields, and press the ESC (Escape) key
when done. Use F2 and F3 to examine clients already entered.
The F4 key deletes the shown entry. The F5 key moves you to the
end of the entries and allows new additions.
REMEMBER to |press the ESC key even after your last entry.\
DTEC &
Decode: Up to 15 entries may be made per access. Unlike the credit-report
screen, you may exit these screens without pressing the ESC key
without losing data. The F4 key may be used to delete the entry
in whichever field the curser is in.

|COMMUNICATIONS\
The communications portion of the program is designed as flexible as
possible. If you have a Hayes compatible modem, the software will dial
and automatically connect you to the credit bureau. If you have a
manually dialed modem or acoustic coupler, the software will wait for
you to establish a carrier before attempting to connect.
IN CASE OF PROBLEMS:
o Double check that you have set the defaults properly.
o Verify that the COM port chosen (COM1 or COM2) for the modem does
not conflict with other cards, especially serial printer cards.
The COM2 port may ONLY be used if a COM1 port exists already.
o Check the modem's connection to the phone line.
o If you are loosing reports, or being disconnected unexpectedly,
try running at 300 baud.
^
|KSR\
The KSR option will allow direct communication between the terminal
and the communications line. You can have the software perform the
log-in sequence, or choose to take control of the modem directly
following initialization. While in KSR mode, you can use the F1 key
to toggle the output, sending it either to the printer or to your
screen.
Note: It is sometimes necessary to let the modem have time to
perform some function without disturbance, such as dialing
another computer and waiting for a carrier tone. The software will
pause for 10 seconds for each tilde ('~') appended to the end of
your keyboard input; these tildes will not be transmitted. Only
tildes directly preceeding the carriage return or CTRL-S will be
sent.
