VisualAge is a powerful client/server, visual contruction-from-parts power tool.  VisualAge uses object-oriented technology with all of its benefits, but masks its complexity for the developer.  Individual developers (using VisualAge) or development workgroups (using VisualAge Team) are able to build industrial-strength applications in a fraction of the time compared to using traditional tools.

VisualAge products support multiple client/server models, multiple communications protocols, multiple databases, and multiple legacy code interfaces.  Smalltalk, the language used to write VisualAge, can be used as a scripting language or a complete programming language.  VisualAge products provide a programming environment complete with GUI, library of parts, versioning/control and configuration management.
