DCE for OS/2 Starter Kit provides a developer with a starter kit to start exploring DCE application development. The product includes DCE Client Services, communications transport (MPTS), and online publications.
DCE for OS/2 Starter Kit is based on the OSF DCE Version 1.0.2. It enables the development and execution of both the client and server portions of the OSF DCE Remote Procedure Call, Threads.
With this product, client and server applications can be developed and tested using RPC and Threads. Because direct string is done within the RPC call, there is no need for OSF DCE compliant Security and Cell Directory Servers for execution. Disk space and RAM memory are saved because of this.
Hardware and Software Requirements:
o 80386 or higher
o Token Ring or Ethernet networks
o 14MB free disk space
o 6MB minimum RAM (8MB recommended)
o OS/2 2.0 or later (OS/2 2.1 or OS/2 2.1 for Windows recommended)
