Distributed Application/2 is a set of 32-bit OS/2 APIs that provides a consistent way to program local or networked client/server applications. It supports C, REXX, or any other 32-bit language that supports 32-bit interfaces.
DA/2 can be used to create OS/2 programs that interact with MVS-based IMS and CICS transactions.
DA/2 uses the following communications protocols:
o APPC (DA/2-to-DA/2 or DA/2 to native APPC applications)
o NetBIOS for IBM and Novell NetWare LAN
o Local OS/2 named pipes
Hardware and Software Requirements:
o OS/2 2.0 or later
o Developer's Toolkit for OS/2 2.x
Note: Other software may be required for your network protocol. See the README file for more information.
