-
- GENERAL SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS
- _____________________________
-
-
- o The "minimum" netbios requirements for running Telepen are:
-
- COMMANDS = 16
- SESSIONS = 2
- NAMES = 1
-
- These requirements are in addition to any other netbios
- requirements for other programs that may be running at
- the same time.
-
- o If characters sent to an application from the Pop-Up
- Keyboard or Handwriting Pad appear to have their case reversed
- (uppercase vs. lowercase), ensure that the Caps Lock key on
- your physical keyboard is not in the locked position.
-
- o The Handwriting Trainer must be closed before performing
- a system shutdown.
-
- o The commands listed on pages 118 and 119 of the Pen
- for OS/2 User's Guide should indicate the following:
-
- CLOSE WINDOW - This command works for Presentation
- Manager programs only.
- MAXIMIZE WINDOW - This command is not supported in WIN-OS/2.
- MAXIMIZE or RESTORE - "
- MINIMIZE WINDOW - "
- MINIMIZE or RESTORE - "
- OPEN - This command works for Presentation Manager
- programs only.
-
- o Refer to the User's Guide for the most up-to-date documentation
- about the SEND KEYSTROKES command. The help information is incorrect.
-
- o If you are using a Wacom** SD-510C, it is advisable to
- change the hardware switch settings to the following:
-
- DS 1 DS 2 DS 3
- 11011000 11100001 11010000
-
- (1=ON, 0=OFF)
-
- By updating these settings, the device settings will be
- correct in case the tablet controller is reset for any reason.
- Refer to the documentation that came with your device for
- information about changing the settings.

- OS/2 APPLICATION COMPATIBILITY
- ______________________________
-
-
- APPLICATION NOTES:
- __________________
-
-
- AutoCAD** for OS/2
- ------------------
- - AutoCAD for OS/2 might make a copy of a portion of the
- Handwriting Pad, Pop-Up Keyboard, or Pen Tool Bar graphics
- if these tools are placed over the drawing area. If this
- occurs, position the tools away from the drawing area.
-
- CMMouse*
- --------
- - Do not use the Pop-Up Keyboard to input into CMMouse
- pop-up boxes; however, you can use the Pop-Up Keyboard
- to input into a 3270-emulation screen even when
- CMMouse is active.
-
- - To map CMMouse RIGHT Button Usage to mouse button 2
- emulation on the pen, change all BUTTON RIGHT
- statements in the button definition files (.BDF) to
- BUTTON MIDDLE statements.
-
- Lotus 123G** for OS/2
- ---------------------
- If the Pen Tool Bar is positioned over the application
- window, double-tapping on the Pen Tool Bar icon might not
- close the Pen Tool Bar. To avoid this problem, either select
- "Close" from the Pen Tool Bar system menu, or position
- the Pen Tool Bar away from the title bar and the menu bar of
- the application.
-
- Lotus Freelance Graphics** for OS/2
- -----------------------------------
- If the Pen Tool Bar is positioned over the application
- window, double-tapping on the Pen Tool Bar icon might not
- close the Pen Tool Bar. To avoid this problem, select "Close"
- Pen Tool Bar system menu.
-
- Lotus Notes** for OS/2
- ----------------------
- If you assign the "MAXIMIZE or RESTORE" command or the
- "MINIMIZE or RESTORE" command to a gesture, the action
- will be performed on the outside window even if the
- gesture is drawn over the inside window.
-
- Microsoft Word** for OS/2
- -------------------------
- - The system-supplied commands that can be assigned to a
- gesture might not be functional in this application.
- - The options on the system menu might not be functional
- when using the pen or the mouse.
-
-
- WIN-OS/2 APPLICATION COMPATIBILITY
- __________________________________
-
-
- o If you are having difficulty double-tapping in a
- WIN-OS/2 session, run the program DCLICK.EXE.
- DCLICK.EXE is provided with Pen for OS/2. It is in-
- stalled in the directory where Pen for OS/2 is in-
- stalled. Start the DCLICK program from an OS/2 window
- prompt.
-
- o If you change your mouse settings to left-handed (using
- the Mouse object in the System Setup folder), then a pen
- tap in a WIN-OS/2 full-screen session is equivalent to
- a mouse button 2 click. To avoid this problem, change
- the mouse settings to right-handed.
-
-
- APPLICATION NOTES:

-
- Harvard Graphics** for Windows
- ------------------------------
- - Harvard Graphics for Windows might make a copy of a portion
- of the Handwriting Pad, Pop-Up Keyboard, or Pen Tool Bar
- graphics if these tools are placed over the drawing area.
- If this occurs, position the tools away from the drawing area.
-
-
- DOS APPLICATION COMPATIBILITY
- _____________________________
-
-
- o In DOS window applications, which process relative mouse
- motion (rather than absolute mouse position), if the DOS
- setting MOUSE_EXCLUSIVE_ACCESS is "On", the pen cannot
- be used to emulate a mouse.
