  5.   Welcome to Pen for OS/2*.  This file contains helpful
  6.   hints resulting from our testing, as well as updated information
  7.   that was not included in the printed publications.  The file
  8.   is divided into the following categories:

  40.   GENERAL SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS

  44.   o   The "minimum" netbios requirements for running Telepen are:
  45.  
  46.         COMMANDS = 16
  47.         SESSIONS = 2
  48.         NAMES = 1
  49.  
  50.       These requirements are in addition to any other netbios
  51.       requirements for other programs that may be running at
  52.       the same time.
  53.  
  54.   o   If characters sent to an application from the Pop-Up
  55.       Keyboard or Handwriting Pad appear to have their case reversed
  56.       (uppercase vs. lowercase), ensure that the Caps Lock key on
  57.       your physical keyboard is not in the locked position.
  58.  
  59.   o   The Handwriting Trainer must be closed before performing
  60.       a system shutdown.
  61.  
  62.   o   The commands listed on pages 118 and 119 of the Pen
  63.       for OS/2 User's Guide should indicate the following:

  65.       CLOSE WINDOW        - This command works for Presentation
  66.                             Manager programs only.
  67.       MAXIMIZE WINDOW     - This command is not supported in WIN-OS/2.
  68.       MAXIMIZE or RESTORE -                "

  71.       OPEN                - This command works for Presentation Manager
  72.                             programs only.

  74.   o   Refer to the User's Guide for the most up-to-date documentation
  75.       about the SEND KEYSTROKES command.  The help information is incorrect.

  77.   o   If you are using a Wacom** SD-510C, it is advisable to
  78.       change the hardware switch settings to the following:

  85.       By updating these settings, the device settings will be
  86.       correct in case the tablet controller is reset for any reason.

  101.     - AutoCAD for OS/2 might make a copy of a portion of the
  102.       Handwriting Pad, Pop-Up Keyboard, or Pen Tool Bar graphics
  103.       if these tools are placed over the drawing area.  If this
  104.       occurs, position the tools away from the drawing area.
  105.  
  106.     CMMouse*
  107.     --------
  108.     - Do not use the Pop-Up Keyboard to input into CMMouse
  109.       pop-up boxes; however, you can use the Pop-Up Keyboard
  110.       to input into a 3270-emulation screen even when
  111.       CMMouse is active.

  113.     - To map CMMouse RIGHT Button Usage to mouse button 2
  114.       emulation on the pen, change all BUTTON RIGHT
  115.       statements in the button definition files (.BDF) to
  116.       BUTTON MIDDLE statements.

  118.     Lotus 123G** for OS/2
  119.     ---------------------
  120.     If the Pen Tool Bar is positioned over the application
  121.     window, double-tapping on the Pen Tool Bar icon might not
  122.     close the Pen Tool Bar.  To avoid this problem, either select
  123.     "Close" from the Pen Tool Bar system menu, or position
  124.     the Pen Tool Bar away from the title bar and the menu bar of
  125.     the application.

  127.     Lotus Freelance Graphics** for OS/2
  128.     -----------------------------------
  129.     If the Pen Tool Bar is positioned over the application
  130.     window, double-tapping on the Pen Tool Bar icon might not
  131.     close the Pen Tool Bar.  To avoid this problem, select "Close"
  132.     Pen Tool Bar system menu.

  134.     Lotus Notes** for OS/2
  135.     ----------------------
  136.     If you assign the "MAXIMIZE or RESTORE" command or the
  137.     "MINIMIZE or RESTORE" command to a gesture, the action
  138.     will be performed on the outside window even if the
  139.     gesture is drawn over the inside window.
  140.  
  141.     Microsoft Word** for OS/2
  142.     -------------------------
  143.     - The system-supplied commands that can be assigned to a
  144.       gesture might not be functional in this application.
  145.     - The options on the system menu might not be functional
  146.       when using the pen or the mouse.

  149.   WIN-OS/2 APPLICATION COMPATIBILITY

  153.   o   If you are having difficulty double-tapping in a
  154.       WIN-OS/2 session, run the program DCLICK.EXE.
  155.       DCLICK.EXE is provided with Pen for OS/2.  It is in-
  156.       stalled in the directory where Pen for OS/2 is in-
  157.       stalled.  Start the DCLICK program from an OS/2 window
  158.       prompt.

  160.   o   If you change your mouse settings to left-handed (using
  161.       the Mouse object in the System Setup folder), then a pen
  162.       tap in a WIN-OS/2 full-screen session is equivalent to
  163.       a mouse button 2 click.  To avoid this problem, change
  164.       the mouse settings to right-handed.
