  4. The Developer's Toolkit for OS/2 2.1 provides an installation program that runs 
  5. under the OS/2 Presentation Manager.  Three components are available for 
  6. installation. 
  7.  
  8. Sample Programs

  11.  
  12. Online Information 
  13.  
  14.    Programming and tools references.

  20.  When the Toolkit Installation window appears, mark the box preceding the 
  21. components to be installed. This will place a check mark in the box signifying 
  22. the component is selected for installation. 
  23.  
  24. The installation program installs the selected components on the drive that you 
  25. installed the OS/2 2.1 operating system on (the default drive). 
  26.  
  27. To install one or more components on the default drive, do the following: 
  28.  
  29.  1. Select the Options. 
  30.  
  31.  2. Select Install. 
  32.  
  33. Follow the prompts displayed in the message boxes to complete the installation. 
  34.  
  35. To install one or more components on other drives 
  36.  
  37.  1. Select Options.

  39.  2. Select Set drives. 
  40.  
  41. The Toolkit Drive Selection window appears. Each component you selected for 
  42. installation is displayed along with the current drive assignment.  Make the 
  43. necessary drive changes in this window. After completing your changes, select 
  44. OK to activate the change.  The Toolkit Installation window re-appears.

  50. You will swap diskettes several times during installation. The message 
  51.  
  52. Install successful on drive x
  53. appears under the name of each component at the completion of the installation.

  63. For CONFIG.SYS changes to take effect, you need to shut down your system, then 
  64. restart it.

  264. the drive letters appearing in the subsequent list. You can scroll up and down 
  265. this list by clicking on the arrow buttons to its right. You may also change 
  266. the drive by pressing the letter of a valid drive.

  271. Some of the errors encountered can be fixed concurrently in another session, in 
  272. which case you may want to retry the operation.

  274. If the error occurred while transferring files, the CONFIG.SYS will not be 
  275. updated and this component will not be added to the desktop. 
  276.  
  277. If the error occurred while updating the CONFIG.SYS, all of the files have been 
  278. transferred but the CONFIG.SYS has not been updated and this component will not 
  279. be added to the desktop.

  281. If the error occurred while adding a program to the desktop, all of the files 
  282. have been transferred and the CONFIG.SYS has been updated but the component 
  283. will not appear on the desktop.

  288. There was not enough disk space on the drive you selected.

  296. The files needed to view the on-line documentation are missing. These files 
  297. reside on the Operating System/2 Version 2.1 diskettes.

  299. You may install these files by inserting the correct diskette when you are 
  300. prompted or you may use the UNPACK utility to transfer them yourself at a later 
  301. time.
