Before you can use Ultimedia Builder/2 which was just installed, you must shut
down and restart your system using the OS/2 shutdown procedure.

Warning: You could lose information if you turn off your computer without doing
the shutdown procedure.

To shutdown your system:

 1. Move the mouse pointer to an area on the screen that is clear of objects.
 2. Click mouse button 2 to display the pop-up menu for the desktop folder.
 3. Select the Shutdown... menu item.
 4. Select the appropriate action for any shutdown window that is displayed.

information about shutting down your system.

If an install is interrupted for some reason, look at the README.DOC file on
the installation media for information on reinstall.  Try to reinstall the
product. If that fails, follow the uninstall instructions in the README.DOC
file, then try to install the product again.

The Target Directory specified for Ultimedia Builder/2 installation is not
valid.

Possible causes are:

 1. The target directory included an invalid character, such as a semi-colon or
    a space.
 2. The target directory could not be created on the target drive.

Either correct the problem or specify a different target directory or target
drive.

To change the target drive:

 1. Select the arrow to the right for a list of available drives.
 2. Select a drive.

After a drive is selected and the installation process starts, the selected
drive becomes the default drive.

Deselect the components that you do not want installed; then select Install.

reference for modifying the CONFIG.SYS file.

Making the changes yourself is most appropriate if entries to the CONFIG.SYS
file are location-sensitive:  For example, certain entries need to be at the

When you select No, a file named CONFIG.NEW is created and placed in the target
directory.  It contains the changes that the multimedia installation program
would make to the CONFIG.SYS file if you had selected Yes.

Note:  If you do not make the changes to the CONFIG.SYS file that appear in the
       CONFIG.NEW file, your multimedia applications will not run correctly.

       It can be identified by its file-name extension, which is a 3-digit
       number.  The file with the highest extension number is the last renamed
       version.  For example, if your system has files CONFIG.001, CONFIG.002,
       and CONFIG.003, the file with extension 003 is the latest version.

An error occurred while attempting to modify the CONFIG.SYS file.  DO NOT
restart your system until the latest unmodified CONFIG.SYS file version is
restored.

To help determine what the problem is, you might save the CONFIG.SYS as a
renamed file and examine its contents for possible errors.  If you cannot
determine the cause of the problem, get help from someone knowledgeable about
CONFIG.SYS files.

To restore the latest unmodified file, rename it CONFIG.SYS.

The latest file version can be identified by its file-name extension which is a
3-digit number.  The file with the highest extension number is the latest
version.  For example, if your system contains files CONFIG.001, CONFIG.002,
and CONFIG.003, the file with extension 003 is the latest version.

The multimedia installation program could not open the CONFIG.SYS file to make
required changes.  A new file, CONFIG.NEW, was created and contains the
required changes. This error might not cause an unsuccessful installation if no
other errors have occurred.

Use the contents of the new file as a reference while editing your CONFIG.SYS
file to make the required changes.

Select OK to acknowledge that you are aware of the error situation and that you
must make changes to the CONFIG.SYS file using the contents of the created
