- CD-ROM. To receive updates of this CD-ROM,
- don't forget to complete a registration form.
- We have provided three methods to complete your registration:
- 1) Shrink-wrapped with the CD-ROM is a registration Business
- Reply Card, just complete and drop in the mail.
- 2) On the CD Welcome Page, click on CD-ROM Registration.
- Here you will find a form with delivery instructions.
- 3) Visit our WWW site to complete an on-line registration.
- From the homepage, click on the CD-ROM registration button
- and when prompted enter "cdrom" as the username and "FMIVOL"
- as the password. Then, complete and submit the registration
- form.

- This information packed CD-ROM comes with Adobe ®Acrobat®
- Reader version 3.0. This software will allow you to easily
- view all the content and datasheets Fujitsu Microelectronics
- has provided. Please follow the instructions below for simple
- installation on your particular platform.

- Fujitsu recommends you install Version 3.0 of Adobe Acrobat
- Reader provided on this CD if you are a Windows or Macintosh
- user. Older versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader should be
- uninstalled and/or removed. Version 3.0 of the Acrobat Reader
- includes search capabilities that allow you to conduct keyword
- searches of the entire CD.

- To activate the search capabilities, follow these instructions
- after you have installed the provided Acrobat Reader:
- 1) On the tool bar, click on the "small binocular with
- document" icon furthest to the right.
- 2) In the pop-up window, click on "Indexes...".
- 3) Click on "Add...".
- 4) From the CD-ROM drive, choose the file "index.pdx", then
- click "OK".
- 5) The Fujitsu index will be added to the available indexes.
- Choose "OK". Then simply, click on the same "small binocular
- with document icon", type in a keyword or phrase, then select
- "Search".

- To view the World Wide Web portion of this CD, you will need a
- Netscape browser, version 2.0 or better. Instructions on how
- to download a Netscape browser follow the instructions for
- installing Adobe Acrobat.

- NOTE:
- The 1996 Windows versions of the FMIVOL CD-ROM installed a
- Fujitsu folder containing a "Read Me" file into the system
- Program Manager. This Fujitsu folder and the "Read Me" file
- can now be deleted; the 1996 version of the "Read Me" file is
- no longer current.

- HOW TO INSTALL ADOBE ACROBAT READER
- =====================================

- Macintosh Users:
- - Double click on FMIVOL icon on the desktop if window is not
- automatically opened.
- - To install the copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader provided on the
- CD, double click on the Install Acrobat Reader 3.0 icon.
- - To launch the FMIVOL program, Double Click on the FMIVOL
- icon located inside the open window named "DOUBLE_CLICK_ME".

- Windows 3.x and NT 3.51:
- - From the File Manager select the CD-ROM drive.
- - Double click on the icon "setup.exe"
- - From the Program Manager, open the Fujistu Folder.
- - Double click on the "Fujitsu" icon.
- - Note: Installation on Win 3.x system subject to delay at 80%
- before continuing the installation.

- Windows 95 and NT 4.0 Users:
- - From the File Manager select the CD-ROM drive.
- - Double click on "setup.exe"
- - Follow installation instructions on your screen.
- - From the Start Menu, find the Fujistu folder under Programs.
- - Select the "Fujitsu" icon.

- Unix Users:
- Note: The following instructions are for Unix Solaris(R) 2.3
- or later operating systems. If you are using another Unix
- operating system please consult the Adobe Acrobat Installation
- Guide (Instiguid.txt) file placed in the Unix folder located
- in the Acroread folder on this CD-ROM.
- - If an error message identifying that the CD is not
- compatabile with ISO 9660 specifications appeared when you
- accessed this CD, please disregard. This CD has been
- partioned for multiple platforms which will not affect
- performance on the UNIX platform.
- - Double click on the folder "acroread"
- - Double click on the folder "unix"
- - Double click on the install icon.
- - Run the installation in a shell tool and follow installation
- instructions on your screen.
- - When installation is complete, hit return to close the shell
- if it does not close automatically.
- - To launch the Acrobat Reader, from the file manager, select
- the appropriate directory and double click. Double click on
- the AcroRead folder. Open the "bin" folder and double click on
- the Acroread icon. Note: application may be run with or
- without a shell tool.
- - Then open the Welcome Page. In the "Selection" window,
- type: /cdrom/fmivol97/fujitsu/welcome.pdf
- - Select "OK" or hit return.

- Note: for Unix users operating with Sun OS:
- The following warning dialog box may appear after installation
- and activation of the Adobe Acrobat 3.0 Reader on Unix systems
- running Sun OS:
- "WARNING: Adobe Acrobat 3.0 running on a X11/News server
- requires patch T100444-74 (OpenWindows V3.0 Server Patch
- 3000-122). Otherwise the Xserver will hang."
- Launching Acrobat Reader 3.0 in the Shell Tool without the patch
- may prevent system from hanging. Otherwise you must obtain a patch
- from Sun Microsystems, Inc., to use Adobe Acrobat 3.0 on your system.
- The correct patch is number T100444-76 (T1004444-74 is now obsolete).
- The software patch is available from Sun Microsystems, Inc.,
- at 415.336.9722.

- INSTALLING NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR
- ================================

- If you have Internet access, simply FTP to "ftp.netscape.com".
- Select the directory which reflects your platform and read the
- "README" file for further installation instructions. If you have
- Web access, you can reach the Netscape home page from this
- URL: "http://home.netscape.com". Once there, click on the
- "DOWNLOAD" button for the latest installation instructions for
- your particular platform. Note: If you need more information
- about accessing your browser using Acrobat Reader please refer
- to the "Read Me" file located in the Acroread folder included
- on this CD-ROM.

- are found in the Adobe Systems Incorporated Electronic End
