2. WHAT is DIAL n' CERF ?
DIAL n' CERF, DIAL n' CERF AYC, DIAL n'CERF USA, DIAL n' CERF ISDN are cost-effective and convenient dialup services. All CERFnet dialup accounts provide SLIP/PPP access as well as shell access to a host system running UNIX a user friendly menu system called the Internet Compass.
All Dial n' CERF services include: an electronic mailbox for e-mail transmission, NetNews access, access to WWW/Mosaic/Gopher/FTP/WAIS, high speed modems, online customer support and a toll-free phone number for technical help (7 days a week).
Dial n' CERF benefits include: You only pay for what you use; affordable minimum charges; no premium for high speed connection; Sign up for Dial n' CERF if you want low hourly charges. A list of local numbers will be provided at time of signup.

Dial n' CERF ISDN Dial n' CERF ISDN adds the speed of ISDN to the features of Dial n' CERF. While Dial n' CERF uses ordinary telephone lines and modems, Dial n' CERF ISDN uses an ISDN phone line and an ISDN router/modem. 3. WHAT ARE CERFNET SUBSCRIPTION RULES:
DIAL n' CERF SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT
Subscription Rules
1. General Atomics agrees to allow Subscriber to connect computing facilities at Subscribers site to CERFnet and transmit data over the Network in accordance with the terms of these Subscription Rules and the CERFnet Acceptable Use Policy
2. Subscriber shall pay monthly service fees for connection and use of the Network. The first such fees shall be due at the time of commencement of service with CERFnet. Thereafter, Fees shall be charged monthly to customer's credit card. A statement of charges will be issued to the Subscriber. Failure to comply with the above mentioned payment schedule may result in cancellation of network services.
3. General Atomics reserves the right to change the above terms and conditions by notifying the Subscriber in writing at least 30 days in advance.
4. Neither Party shall have the right to use the other's name, trademark or tradename or to refer to this Agreement in connection with any product, promotion, or publication without the prior written consent of the other Party.
5. No information exchanged between the Parties shall be considered confidential unless it is the subject of a separate written confidential non-disclosure agreement.
6. This Agreement will be effective upon completion of the signup process and may be terminated by either Party immediately upon written notice to the other Party provided, however, that the provisions of Paragraphs 7 and 8 shall survive any termination. Subscriber is thus responsible for any outstanding service fees.
7. General Atomics, any and all other participating CERFnet contractors and grantees, and CERFnet's directors, officers and employees are not authorized to make any affirmation of fact or warranty with respect to the software or hardware supplied under this Agreement and General Atomics HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND INFRINGEMENT OF PROPRIETARY INTERESTS AND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO SUBSCRIBER FOR DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE GENERAL ATOMICS HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE.
8. The Subscriber shall indemnify and hold General Atomics, their directors, officers, employees and agents harmless from and against any and all damages, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or related to Subscriber's use of the Network or Subscriber's breach of the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
9. This Agreement and the legal relationships between the Parties shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
10.This Agreement, including the CERFnet Acceptable Use Policy, is the sole Agreement between the Parties respecting the subject matter hereof. Subscriber has read this Agreement and fully understands the terms thereof. This Agreement supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether oral or written. This Agreement may only be changed or terminated in writing, signed by both Parties.
CERFnet - ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
This statement represents a guide to the acceptable use of the CERFnet facilities.
(1) If data from any source leaves CERFnet and enters another network that data must follow the acceptable use rules of the entered network (including member networks, regional, or backbone networks). It is the responsibility of the member where this traffic enters CERFnet to meet this requirement.
(2) Any traffic which is disruptive from any source is prohibited.
(3) Commercial data may be exchanged if other party is a member of CIX (Commercial Internet Exchange), or any future commercial arrangements CERFnet may make. Subscriber is responsible for confirming that party receiving commercial data is a member of CIX or agrees with party's acceptable use policy. Failure to comply with these Policies and Procedures and Network usage rules may result in the termination of Subscriber's membership.
