  9. PatchWBPens  is  a  patch  like  MagicColors  for displaying icons stripped to 3
  10. bitplanes in the correct colors on a Workbench screen with more than 8 colors.
  11.  
  12. I  wrote  it because I didn't get MagicColors so far that icons are displayed in
  13. the  correct  colors  when the Workbench opens for the first time.
  14. It  looks  not  very  perfect  when they have at first the wrong colors and then
  15. after a few seconds change to the correct ones.

  17. PatchWBPens is nearly a complete rewrite of SetPens1.0.

  22. PatchWBPens will set the correct color pens when:
  23.  
  24.     - the Workbench opens for the first time,
  25.  
  26.     - the Workbench was temporarily closed, (normally done by graphics programs to
  27.       get more memory)

  29.     - the palette prefs has changed.

  32. Requirements

  34.     - It needs the patch.library V3 from Stefan Fuchs (util/libs/PatchLibV3.lha) 
  35.       (included)

  37.     - AmigaOS 3.x.

  43. Just insert the following line anywhere before LoadWB. User-Startup will be fine.

  50.  
  51.     -  You may remove PatchWBPens anytime by sending a break signal (CTRL-C).
  52.        Though there is no reason to do that.
  53.  
  54.     -  Is  it  possible that setting new pen colors will not work correctly when
  55.        the  palette  has  changed,  i.e.   not  all  pens are changed to the new
  56.        colors.
  57.        If  that  is  really the case, PatchWBPens sets the new colors before the
  58.        Workbench (IPrefs) has changed the colors itself. 
  59.        You  can  correct  this  by telling PatchWBPens to delay its work by n/50
  60.        seconds. ( run <>NIL:  PatchWBPens n ) The default value for n is 1.

  62.     -  PatchWBPens OpenWorkBench patch will not be called, if you have installed
  63.        PatchControl, which is a replacment for SetMan. With SetMan it will work
  64.        WITHOUT any problem. I have no idea what is wrong here.
