  7.             IPREFS - Managages the Preferences scheme in 2.x/3.x.

  13.         DESCRIPTION
  14.  
  15.             This command will read all the preference settings in 
  16.         the ENV:Sys directory and puts those settings into 
  17.         effect. IPREFS hangs out in memory and looks out for 
  18.         changes made to the preference settings.
  19.  
  20.             For IPREFS updating functions to work you must have 
  21.         all the windows of any process running closed that have 
  22.         opened up on the Workbench. You willknow if you have 
  23.         something open when you try to reset a Preference setting 
  24.         and get a message saying: 'Intuition is attempting to 
  25.         reset the Workbench screen. Please close all windows 
  26.         except drawers.' If you get this during bootup then you 
  27.         probably entered a command in the startup-sequence before 
  28.         IPREFS was run. This is a good reason why you should not 
  29.         alter your startup-sequence and make any extra programs 
  30.         run from your user-startup script. But, if you absolutly 
  31.         must enter a command before IPREFS, then run its output 
  32.         to NIL:. So, to run 'NeatProgram Keywords Arguments'    
  33.         before IPREFS, then you should enter it as 'NeatProgram 
  34.         >NIL: Keywords Arguments'.

  39.             Under 2.x only: This lets you quit IPREFS while  
  40.         keeping all the Prefrences intact. This keeps anything 
  41.         from changing the preferences as they are updated. This 
  42.         was removed under 3.x.

  44.             NOTE: IPREFS is started during system startup. If you 
  45.         try to run it again you will get an error message saying 
  46.         that you already have it runnig and that you can't run it 
  47.         again.
