  4.      GEOS2TGA is a public domain program that was designed to work in
  5. conjunction with PICLAB to provide a quick and simple way to port
  6. Commodore geoPaint images into the world of MS-DOS.
  7.  
  8.      GEOS2TGA will convert any geoPaint image into a color-mapped Targa
  9. file.  From here the image can be converted into GIF using PICLAB
  10. (PICLAB is an excellent freeware program that is available on CompuServe
  11. in the PICS forum) or any other true Targa conversion program.

  13.      It is important to note that if you are copying geoPaint images
  14. from a Commodore machine yourself, you must first convert them into a
  15. standard Commodore SEQ or PRG file using Berkeley Softworks' CONVERT
  16. program.  If you are downloading geoPaint images from a BBS, you don't
  17. need to worry about this because it will already have been done for you.

  19.      To use TGA2GEOS, just type "GEOS2TGA <filename>" where <filename>
  20. is the name of the image you want to convert.  If you do not specify an
  21. extension, GEOS2TGA will assume that the filename ends in ".SEQ".

  23.      To convert the TGA files to GIF with PICLAB, call up PICLAB by
  24. typing "PL" on the DOS command line.  At the piclab command prompts,
  25. type "TLOAD <filename>", then "GSAVE <filename>", and finally "EXIT" to
  26. exit PICLAB.  The image has now been converted to GIF.
