- Regarding the sample sets data files:
-
- The directories 4samples, 16samples and 64samples hold sampling
- patterns of N samples per pixel (N = 4, 16, 64). The data has been
- culled into the best 10, 100 and 1000 performers in each population
- (best10.data, best100.data, best1000.data), although the latest
- version of the population is also included in each group
- (populationN.data).
-
- In the data files, the first four lines indicate the generation number
- of this file (0 for the "best" files), the size of the population, the
- number of samples per pixel and the total fitness of this population
- (equal to the size of the population for the "best" files). On each
- of the following lines, the first number indicates the fitness of this
- sampling pattern, followed by the samples as x-y pairs.
-
- The populationN.data files are included in the event that users choose
- to breed these sample sets further. Note that methods other than
- genetic algorithms might be of more use to these populations as
- further generations may introduce inbreeding and bais in the samples.
