  2. Some notes to use MCP !!

  4. 1)  NewIcons
  5.  
  6. If you have activated the NoIconBorder patches from NewIcons then you
  7. should disable the Quickdraw function of MCP, because the QuickDraw
  8. patch uses a function from the operating system to draw lines
  9. which isn't patched from NewIcons.

  11.  
  12. 2)  all monitor files from graphic cards
  13.  
  14. You have to start these monitor drivers before MCP to allow
  15. correct working patches. Especially the NoIconborder patch and the
  16. ScreenManager needs this to work. Otherwise it works only after a
  17. restart of MCP or using the Prefsprogram.

  20. 3)  Installer Version

  22. Please use the newer Installer versions to install MCP.

  25. 4)  DOpus5 and ChangeWBTitle function
  26.  
  27. If you want enable the ChangeWBTitle function from MCP you have to
  28. type the following lines:
  29.       setenv dopus/WorkbenchTitle "Workbench Screen"
  30.       copy env:dopus/WorkbenchTitle TO envarc:dopus

  33. 5)  DOpus5 and APPChange function
  34.  
  35. You have to set the parameters of PatchControl to the following:
  36. "C:PatchControl DO_LAUNCHER".
  37. That's because the DOpus function never calls the function from the
  38. operating system back and therefore the APPChange option doesn't
  39. work. PatchControl changes the order of the patches to fix this.

  42. 6)  FinalWriter printing problem
  43.  
  44. We have found a question about problems when printing with FinalWriter
  45. in a german Amiga magazin. That's true.. You have to deactivate the
  46. MemPatch function if you print graphics with FinalWriter, because
  47. this function needs ChipRam. It's unclear for which operation
  48. the ChipRam is needed.

  51. 7)  Blizkick
  52. If you have problems with the CopyMemQuicker function of MCP, please
  53. deactivate the CopyMemQuicker function of MCP or the EXTRES function
  54. of Blizkick.

  57. 8)  FastIPrefs
  58. There's an incompatibility between FastIPrefs 40.36b and PatchControl.
  59. The Toolsdaemon program can not be deactivated. All former FastIPrefs
  60. versions are working correct.

  63. 9)  Birdie
  64. It doesn't render the colors (shine and halfshine pen) for the MCP
  65. WBGauge. This is no fault of MCP, but I think it's not easy for Birdie
  66. to change this.

  69. 10)  SwazBlanker modules
  70. You should disable the Copperlist option which is available in some
  71. blanker modules, because MCP crashes if you use this option. We have
  72. no idea what's wrong, because the increasing of the stack size was
  73. not successful.

  75. 11)  NewIcons and MWB Icons
  76. To solve the problem of having MWB colors and NewIcons colors at the
  77. same time and to avoid the NewIcons *Appicons* colors to be remapped
  78. when WB screen close & re-open everybody can simply lock all NewIcons
  79. colors with "-1" and the MWB colors in the right positions:
  80. 0 149 149 149, -1 59 103 162, 4 123 123 123, 5 175 175 175, 6 170 144 124,
  81. 7 255 169 151. These last color lockings will grant MWB colors for
  82. MWB icons also if you don't use MWB's colors in the Palette prefs!
