  18.  The ScanTek scanner driver has the following features:
  19.  
  20.  1. Support of the following SCSI Microtek scanner models:
  21.         MICROTEK IISP, MICROTEK II, HIGHSCREEN Flatbed Color IIs,
  22.         ScanMaker E3, ScanMaker 35t, ScanMaker E6,
  23.         Highscreen PerfectScan, Highscreen HighScan
  24.  
  25.     Support of the following SCSI Mustek Paragon scanner models:
  26.         Three Pass Scanners:
  27.         Paragon 6000CX, 8000CX (not tested), 12000CX all should work
  28.  
  29.         One or Single Pass Scanners:
  30.         Paragon 6000SP, 8000SP, 12000SP (now supported) all should work
  31.         Paragon 6000CZ, 8000CZ (not tested)
  32.  
  33.         Paragon 600IISP, 800IISP
  34.  
  35.  
  36.     The following scanner models are in the development phase:
  37.         Microtek E3PLUS
  38.            This new scanner model can be used in black&white, grey scale
  39.            and color scanning.
  40.            The download of color lookup tables (gamma curves) does not
  41.            work at the moment.

  43.         Microtek V300 
  44.         Microtek 330, 630
  45.            These scanner models are due to the documentation related to           
  46.            the Microtek E3PLUS. They should work in an equivalent way.
  47.

  49.     The following scanner models are recognized but not fully supported: 
  50.         Mustek ScanExpress 12000SP
  51.         Mustek Paragon 1200IIISP (caution: III -> version 3)
  52.            Color scanning is only sucessfull at resolutions of 150, 300,
  53.            600 and 1200 dpi.
  54.            Grey scale scanning is possible.
  55.            If the image to be scanned exceeds the scan buffer size than
  56.            the image is corrupt. This effect is independent from the
  57.            scan mode.
  58.            The scanning quality is also (!) dependent from the used
  59.            SCSI host adapter.
  60.            The ScanExpress or Paragon 12000IIISP scanner models are
  61.            not recommended for ScanTek.
  62.            At least until sometimes in the future the corresponding
  63.            Mustek SCSI programming documentation for these new models
  64.            is available. I think this might be a Millenium projekt.

  67.     The following scanner models are not supported by now: 
  68.         All remaining Mustek ScanExpress and Paragon IIISP models.
  69.  
  70.  
  71.     The following scanner models are not supported:
  72.         Canon, Epson, HP, Umax and any parallelport scanner.
  73.  
  74.  
  75.     Attention: In recent times Mustek has changed the scanner firmware.
  76.                I urge you to test Mustek scanners with your Amiga
  77.                configuration before buying it.
  78.  
  79.                Mustek scanners have a critical SCSI interface. It
  80.                was reported to me that these scanners may not work
  81.                with the A2091 and A3000(T) internal SCSI interface.
  82.                It is possible that these scanners do not work with
  83.                other SCSI host adapters, either.
  84.                But the Mustek 6000CX and Paragon MFS-12000SP work in
  85.                combination with an Oktagon SCSI host adapter.
  86.                Be sure to disable reselection for Mustek scanners
  87.                on your SCSI host adapter. Otherwise your system may
  88.                not boot.
  89.  
  90.  2. Support of black/white, built-in halftone (dither), one-pass-color-scan,
  91.     three pass color scan, grey, red, green and blue scan.
  92.  
  93.  3. Individual setting of resolution, scanning frame, contrast, shadow,
  94.     midtone, highlight, exposure time and scanning speed for download to the
  95.     scanner.
  96.  
  97.  4. Download of a color look up table (gamma correction table ) to the scanner
  98.     supported.
  99.  
  100.  5. Scanning to IFF File of 1, 8 or 24 bit color depth. The maximum size of
  101.     the scanned image is independent from the RAM size. After the scanning
  102.     process it is possible to start an external program.
  103.  
  104.  6. GUI for preview and configuration of the driver. You need Kickstart 2.04
  105.     but Kickstart 3.0 is recommended.
  106.  
  107.  7. Sizeable preview window in black/white or grey scale. Color preview
  108.     on Cybergraphix screens (15, 16 or 24 bit necessary).
  109.     There are much more skilled programs to view and manipulate the scanned
  110.     images in color. (A tool like ADPRO, IMAGE FX or so is needed, if you
  111.     want to do sophisticated postproduction)

  113.  8. ARexx support
  114.  
  115.  9. Screenmode requester to define custom screen for working. The actual public
  116.     screen is supported as well
  117.  
  118.  10. Configurable SCSI device and SCSI ID. The driver supports only SCSI
  119.      connectable scanners.
  120.  
  121.  11. The driver is tested with the following SCSI drivers: oktagon.device and
  122.      gvpscsi.device V4.5.
  123.  
  124.  12. ScanTek is written using SAS C 6.55.
  125.  
  126.  13. ScanTek is SHAREWARE.
  127.  
  128.  14. The non registered version of ScanTek is a full working version, but all
  129.      scanned images have black lines to motivate you to register.
  130.      Additionally the maximum size of the preview is restricted.
