  31.   By installing this program, WinSpell 3.05d, here after known as
  32.   Program, you accept the terms and conditions as per this licence

  36.   or upgrades to Company under this Agreement.  R&TH Inc. licenses the
  37.   Software solely on an "AS IS" basis.

  39.   Users are granted a limited license to use the Program for a single 
  40.   evaluation period not to exceed 30 days in order to determine if it 
  41.   suits their needs.  Any other use of the Program or use past this 
  42.   period requires that you obtain a Licensed, non-demonstration copy 
  43.   of the Program through R&TH Inc. or your local software store.

  73. RELEASE NOTES:
  74.   WinSpell now has automatic (built in) support for many of the
  75.   online  communications programs, such as WinCIM, WAOL
  76.   (America Online), and many Internet mail packages. WinSpell can
  77.   spell check and correct your online communications, e-mails and
  78.   other transactions directly in the online packages with just
  79.   a click of the mouse.
  80.  
  81.   WinSpell 3.05 has some slick new abilities in terms of checking
  82.   and correcting documents in place.  The New features are fully
  83.   documented in WinSpell's online help.  The biggest change is
  84.   the fact that the macro journal files now have two macros within
  85.   them.  Thus, the new files with this distribution will overwrite
  86.   old files.  If you have your own macro files, you will need to
  87.   recreate them and add the Clipboard Check macro.  See the online
  88.   help for details.

  90.   The new things to look at are spell checking the text in a
  91.   window and WinSpell's new ability to add search and replace
  92.   features to many applications that do not have such facilities.
  93.   See WinSpell's Search and Replace Dialog Box in the online help
  94.   for a discussion of this feature.
  95.   
  96.   The documentation has not been updated as yet to reflect these
  97.   changes.  Where the User's Manual differs from the online help,
  98.   the online help should be considered as the correct information.
  99.   For the most part, the changes are minimal in terms of required
  100.   documentation, but they add significantly to WinSpell in terms
  101.   of ease of use and functionality.
  102.   
  103.   The standard WinSpell Dictionaries are referred to as COMMON.DCT
  104.   FULL.DCT throughout the documentation.  We have changed their names
  105.   to COMMON.WSD and FULL.WSD to more clearly distinguish them from the
  106.   User Dictionaries, which use the .DCT extension by default.
  107.  
  108.   WinSpell unchecks the "Use Clipboard Editor" after the initial
  109.   Search and Replace operation on the Clipboard.  This is because
  110.   WinspEdt can and will load multiple copies of itself at WinSpell's
  111.   request.  You really only want to use one WinspEdt session for
  112.   Clipboard correction.
  113.  
  114. TROUBLE-SHOOTING:
  115.   If WinSpell doesn't beep when you misspell a word, either you have
  116.   not added the window into which you are typing to WinSpell, or you
  117.   have not set your Enable System Sounds check box in the Sounds applet
  118.   of the Windows Control Panel.  This must be on for WinSpell to be
  119.   able to access Windows sound abilities.
  120.  
  121.   WinSpell does not auto-attach its keyboard to your application.
  122.   Make sure you have an association (Settings|Associations...
  123.   menu item) for the application.  If the application does not
  124.   have a Search and Replace facility, simply associate it with the
  125.   NO_MACRO.JNL file.  NO_MACRO.JNL is a file which contains no
  126.   pre-recorded keystrokes and thus does nothing.  However, since
  127.   there is a macro file associated with your application, WinSpell
  128.   will auto-attach the keyboard spelling monitor whenever the
  129.   application is started.
  130.  
  131.   Your application has a Search and Replace facility but WinSpell
  132.   doesn't have a matching journal file.  WinSpell can help you create,
  133.   store and associate a new Search and Replace macro journal file
  134.   to use with your application.  See the Help or The User's Manual
  135.   and Reference for information about how to create and association
  136.   the macro.
  137.  
  138.   Search and Replace operations don't always act quite right.
  139.   Some applications have idiosyncrasies with respect to the Search
  140.   and Replace dialog boxes they implement.  You should generally
  141.   close the Search and Replace dialogs after each global correction
  142.   of a word in your documents before starting another correction.
  143.   Additionally, many presentation applications have additional
  144.   options such as Check All Slides or Entire Presentation.  Make
  145.   sure the correct options are set such that the Search and Replace
  146.   operation will catch all your slides.  See the WinSpell User's
  147.   Manual and Reference for information about using the Search and
  148.   Replace document correction facility.  Additionally, see the
  149.   "Search and Replace" Tips in the WinSpell Help.

  151. INSTALLATION NOTES:
  152.   In order to install WinSpell Release 3.0, you must use the
  153.   WinSpell installation program.  The files are compressed and
  154.   cannot simply be copied and renamed.
  155.  
  156.   Delete the versions 1.70 and below of WinSpell completely.
  157.   Release 3.0 is not backward compatible with the dictionary files.
  158.   If you have personal dictionary files you still want to use,
  159.   execute the DCT2ASC utility to convert the dictionaries to a text
  160.   file.  See your previous documentation for details.  WinSpell
  161.   Release 3.0 can read text files and merge them into the new
  162.   User Dictionaries.
  163.  
  164.   If WinSpell complains about the format of a dictionary and you
  165.   have WinSpell 1.70 or below, WinSpell is probably still
  166.   attempting to load the older format dictionaries.  Use the
  167.   Settings/All... dialog box to reference the correct dictionary
  168.   (which is where you just installed WinSpell).
  169.  
  170.   If WinSpell complains that the "Table is Full", you are not
  171.   running the correct WINSPELL.EXE.  Reset the Properties... via
  172.   the File/Properties... of the Program Manager.  Also, if you
  173.   are running the incorrect version, you are probably also
  174.   referencing incorrect dictionaries.  See the previous paragraph
  175.   for details.

  177. The following is a short explanation for each file:
  178.  
  179.     WINSPELL.EXE - WinSpell's main executable.  This is the file that
  180.                    you will want to add to your program manager in
  181.                    Windows, or have Windows load via the "load=" option
  182.                    in WIN.INI.
  183.  
  184.                    WINSPELL.EXE is required for proper operation.
  185.  
  186.     WINSPEDT.EXE - WinSpell's Accessory Editor.  This is a simple
  187.                    text editor which WinSpell uses to perform Search
  188.                    and Replace operations on the Clipboard.
  189.  
  190.                    WINSPEDT.EXE is required for proper operation.
  191.  
  192.     WINSPDLL.DLL - WinSpell's dynamic link library.
  193.  
  194.                    WINSPDLL.DLL is required for proper operation.
  195.  
  196.     WINSPELL.HLP - WinSpell's Help file for use in Windows Help.
  197.  
  198.                    WINSPELL.HLP is not required for proper operation.
  199.  
  200.     FULL.WSD     - WinSpell Standard Dictionary.
  201.  
  202.                    FULL.DCT is generally required for proper operation.
