  2. Configure Game.
  3.  
  4. This option lets you select the type of advanced sound and/or 
  5. music card[s] you wish to use.  It will allow you to make 
  6. changes if your sound and/or music card is not set at the 
  7. factory default settings. If you do not have a sound or music 
  8. card, this option does not apply to you.
  9. # 1
  10. Read README File.
  11.  
  12. This will display the README file. Last minute changes and
  13. changes to the product after the manual was printed will be
  14. documented in this file.
  15. # 2
  16. Make Boot Floppy.
  17.  
  18. This option will make a start up floppy disk that will bring 
  19. you directly into the program.  It will also correct most
  20. memory problems.  You will need a diskette that fits in your 
  21. A: drive.  YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS IN YOUR A: DRIVE WITH A HIGH
  22. DENSITY DISKETTE.  Select MAKE BOOT FLOPPY and follow the 
  23. on-screen instructions.  To use this Boot Floppy, place the 
  24. disk in your A: drive and re-boot your computer.  If you do 
  25. not need a BOOT FLOPPY, proceed to INSTALL GAME.

  27. Install Game

  29. Copy the necessary game files to your local hard drive.

  31. Exit.
  32.  
  33. Selecting EXIT will terminate the install routine and return 
  34. you to the DOS prompt.

  36. Select Sound Card.
  37.  
  38. This will let you choose from a list of different sound cards
  39. that are supported by this program.  Move the highlighted bar 
  40. over the desired type of sound card and press <ENTER>.  After 
  41. you specify the type of sound card, move the highlighted bar 
  42. to CHANGE SOUND DEFAULT and press <ENTER>.  See the CHANGE 
  43. SOUND DEFAULT help-screen for assistance in setting the sound 
  44. card interrupts.  If you do not have an advanced sound card, 
  45. select DONE and proceed to INSTALL GAME.

  47. Select Music Card

  49. This will allow those who have more than one sound card to 
  50. designate a specific sound card for music.  Move the high-
  51. lighted bar over the desired sound card and press <ENTER>.  
  52. Then move the highlighted bar to CHANGE SOUND DEFAULT and 
  53. press <ENTER>.  Follow the CHANGE SOUND DEFAULT help-screen 
  54. for assistance in setting the sound card interrupts. If you 
  55. do not have a music card, skip this option, select DONE and 
  56. proceed to INSTALL GAME.

  58. Change Sound Default.

  60. IO, DMA and IRQ settings refer to numerical parameters that 
  61. permit your computer to properly recognize and use your sound 
  62. card. If the sound card is not set to its default you will
  63. have to select this option and set-up the sound card. If you
  64. do not know what these settings are, use the test program that
  65. came with the sound card. If you still can not determine what 
  66. the settings are, you will have to contact the sound card
  67. company for this information.

  69. Change Music Default.

  83. portion of the install routine, select DONE and return to
  84. the Main Menu.

  88. This is where your game will be installed. All necessary files
  89. will be copied to this directory on your hard drive.

  91. Change IO Address

  93. By selecting Change IO Address, you are allowed to change
  94. the default IO Address.  Type the new IO Address and
  95. press <ENTER>.

  97. Change IRQ

  99. By selecting Change IRQ, you are allowed to change the
  100. default setting IRQ to whatever other setting your 
  101. card requires.  Type the new IRQ setting and press <ENTER>.

  103. Change DMA

  105. By selecting Change DMA, you are allowed to change the DMA 
  106. setting.  Type the DMA Channel your sound card is using
  107. and press <ENTER>.

  111. This will bring you back to the Configure Menu after your 
  112. selections and changes are made.

  114. How to enter the IO Address
  115.  
  116. Type the three digit number to indicate the IO Address for 
  117. the sound card you are using.  Examples would be 220, 230, 240.

  119. How to enter the IRQ
  120.  
  121. Type the one or two digit number to indicate the IRQ setting
  122. for the sound card you are using.  Examples would be 10, 5, 2.

  124. How to enter the DMA
  125.  
  126. Type the one digit number to indicate the DMA Channel for the
  127. sound card you are using.  Examples would be 1, 2, 3.

  129. ADVISORY: You do not have enough memory to run game.

  131. Because of other programs you are running, or the way your 
  132. computer is configured, there is not enough CONVENTIONAL 
  133. MEMORY to run this game.  Use the MAKE BOOT FLOPPY option 
  134. to correct this problem.

  136. ADVISORY: No EMS driver found. Create some...

  138. This game requires you to have an EMS driver.  This driver 
  139. will turn XMS (Extended Memory) into EMS (Expanded Memory).
  140. Use the MAKE BOOT FLOPPY option to correct this problem.

  142. ADVISORY: Possible Insufficient EMS.

  144. If you are running Delta-V without sound you will only need
  145. 2M (2097152 bytes) of free EMS memory.
  146.  
  147. If you are tring to run Delta-V with sound effects you do NOT
  148. have enough free EMS. You need 2.5M (2621440 bytes) to be able
  149. to run with sound effects.

  151. You may try the MAKE BOOT FLOPPY option to free up some EMS.

  155. This is where your saved games for this CD-ROM game will be
  156. stored.  The batch file to start the game will also be written
  157. to this directory.
