This patch updates Sudden Strike to Version 1.2. It includes
numerous changes:
Version 1.2:
- The incompatibiltys according the CD-ROM/DVD-Drive NEC DV 5700A were fixed.
Version 1.1:
- GameSpy support (see below). With this it is possible to start
multiplayer battles comfortably via the internet.
- Selective unloading of troops from trucks. When a truck is
selected the units inside it are displayed in the upper left of the
screen. You can now unload specific units by clicking on their
symbol.
- Placing mines. This was simplified. Now you have to select a
soldier carrying a mine. Then you choose "lay mine" and right click
where you want him to place the mine.
- Repairing bridges. This too has been simplified. Select a supply
truck. Select "repair bridge" and then right-click on the bridge.
Playing via GameSpy
1. You the program GameSpy Arcade. This program is for free
and can be downloaded at
http://www.gamespyarcade.com/download/
2. Install GameSpy
3. Start GameSpy
4. Register at GameSpy
5. After the registration choose "Scan for Games" from the "Files"
menu. Now GameSpy will look for an installed version of Sudden
Strike on your PC.
6. Once Sudden Strike was found, GameSpy Arcade
automatically downloads its Sudden Strike support. In case it does
not please check whether Sudden Strike is properly installed on
your computer and restart GameSpy.
7. Once the additional data was downloaded a Sudden Strike
symbol will appear. Click on this symbol to enter the lobby to
Sudden Strike. This is where you can chat, create games or join
games.
8. Each player that join a battle has to press "ready". As soon as
this is done the player that created the game can press the "Start"
button to start the game.
9. Now Sudden Strike will be launched automatically and all the
players will find themselves on the multiplayer screen of Sudden
Strike. From here everything is a usual.
