  17. SUBJECT: "Click Noise" with Notch On 
  18.  
  19. Symptom: When a strong signal of S-9 or greater is received at the antenna 
  20. terminal with the NOTCH circuit ON a "clicking" noise might be noticed. 
  21. This is caused by excessive response in the AGC loop circuit.
  22.  
  23. Countermeasures: The changes detailed below will add additional delay to the 
  24. AGC circuit and reduce or eliminate this tendency.

  35. On PC Board X48-3080-00 (Foil Side) change R289 from 10K to 22K. 
  36. Add the 0.47 uF Cap across C43.

  39. Caution: This modification requires advanced sufface mount soldering 
  40. equipment that is rated for CMOS circuits. It also requires familiarity 
  41. with advanced sufface mount soldering techniques. If you do not have the 
  42. proper equipment or knowledge do not attempt this modification yourself. 
  43. Seek qualified assistance from your closest Kenwood Service Center 
  44. (Long Beach, CA, or Virginia Beach, VA).
