  17. SUBJECT: Noise with Sub-Band Noise Blanker ON
  18.  
  19. Symptom:
  20.  
  21. Noise is generated when NB1 is switched on for the sub-receiver.
  22.  
  23. Cause:
  24.  
  25. Switching noise from the noise-blanker gate enters the AF amplifier via 
  26. the +15V line causing the noise.

  34. Procedure:
  35. 1. Cut the pattern of the 15 V line  on the IF Unit (X48-3060-00) 
  36.    component side, near Q34's emitter and add the 120 ohm resistor as 
  37.    shown in the accompanying diagram.
  38. 2. Add the electrolytic capacitor from the end of the resistor that was
  39.    added (end closest to L28) to the shield of L28. Quickly solder the 
  40.    negative lead to the metal shield of L28.
