  17. SUBJECT: LOW TRANSMIT POWER

  19. We have noticed some variation in the output power provided by Toshiba 
  20. S-AV22A power modules with a production code of "1I". Modules with this 
  21. production code might exhibit low or no transmitter output power. This 
  22. procedure will correct this problem .

  25. Parts Required:

  27. 0.01 uF axial lead capacitor---------------------- C91-0769-05

  30. Procedure: 
  31.  
  32. 1. Remove chip capacitors C17 and C18 from the TX-RX Unit (X57-3640-11.) 
  33.  
  34. 2. Install the new axial lead capacitor as shown in the accompanying diagram. 
  35.    The new C18 is connected from the board edge on one side and to the pad 
  36.    the "old" C18 on the other side. The cap should lay along the board edge. 
  37.  
  38. Note: Deleting C17 and C18 alone will not correct this symptom. The new C18 
  39. will be used to stabilize circuit performance. Deleting C17 alone will not 
  40. cure the symptom.
