  17. SUBJECT: ALTERNATOR NOISE                                       10/28/88

  20. When two transceivers are connected to the RC-10, alternator noise may 
  21. be induced in the mic circuits. The following modification will correct 
  22. this condition.

  24. PARTS REQUIRED:
  25.  
  26. 600 OHM : 600 OHM ISOLATION TRANSFORMER ..... W05-0222-00 ..... QTY.2.
  27. 470 uH FERRI-INDUCTOR ....................... L40-4711-05 ..... QTY.1.

  29. 1. Remove the base plate from the RC-10 (6 screws on the plate; 1 screw 
  30.    on the back panel).
  31. 2. Add the ferri-inductor between pins 7 and 8 of connector B .
  32. 3. Locate connectors J2 and J3 on the AF unit (X49-3010-XX B/3).
  33. 4. Add a transformer in each mic circuit.
  34. 5. Using double sided tape, secure each transformer to the side wall 
  35.    of the base.

  37. Time required for this modification is 0.5 hrs or less.
