  17. SUBJECT: Service Notes on AT-930

  20. Some of the symptoms and cures for troubles that have been encountered with
  21. the AT-930 are listed below.
  22.  
  23. 1.   The motors do not stop on all bands.
  24.      
  25.      Possible causes:
  26.      a.   Cold solder joint of platee VCJ wire.
  27.      b.   Cold solder joint of L18 lead.
  28.      c.   Cold solder joint of the wire between pin 13 of Q39 and R139, D33
  29.           and R138.
  30.  
  31. 2.   The motors do not stop on the 7 MHz band.
  32.  
  33.      Possible Cause:     
  34.      The rotor of VC2 contacts (shorts against) the stator.
  35.  
  36. 3.   The motors do not stop on the 28 MHz band.
  37.  
  38.      Possible Cause:
  39.      Cold solder joint between D33 and R84
  40.  
  41. 4.   The AUTO mode does not reset.
  42.  
  43.      Possible Cause:
  44.      The wire from R138, R139 and D33 may touch Q39 pin 14.
  45.  
  46. 5.   The motor stop when SWR is at Maximum.
  47.  
  48.      Possible Cause:
  49.      The wire from R138, R139 and D33 touches Q39 pin 14 and the foil is
  50.      broken around VC1.
  51.  
  52. Time required for this change is 1/2 hour.
