  17. SUBJECT: RX INTERNAL SPURIOUS SIGNALS
  18.                                                         
  19.      Receiver internal spurious signals occurring at xx1.7MHz
  20.      and xx6.7MHz may be reduced or eliminated by adding an
  21.      additional ground and bypass capacitor in the PLL. These
  22.      are third overtone (21.6MHz) products of the PLL IF (7.2MHz).
  23.      
  24.      This applies to all units before S/N lllxxxx.

  26.      PROCEDURE
  27.      
  28.      1. Remove the top cover (4 screws).
  29.      
  30.      2. Remove the rubber conductive shield.
  31.      
  32.      3. Remove the aluminum cover from the PLL unit X50-1670-xx
  33.           (17 screws).
  34.           
  35.      4. Solder a jumper between the DBM and VCO
  36.           compartments.
  37.           
  38.      5. Solder a .01pf 50V disc ceramic capacitor (CK45FlH103Z)
  39.           from the DBM shield to the case of Q4 (3SK76 or 3SK92).
  40.           
  41.      6. Reverse steps 3-1 to reassemble.

  43.      NOTE: Installation time for this procedure is 1/2 hour or less.
